I hope SEY is now looking to buy some cheap future production with it's cash pile as with the canceled drilling ect there will be a big shortage of Oil in the not to distant future . How long can they frack in the USA at a cost of 50/60$ per barrel ? Interesting times ahead for Oil/Gas .

its strange to think that Sey might be better off in the short term by putting a portion of their cash to use by buying shares in some hammered oil producers for example Afren or perhaps Ophir energy - if / when a bottom for this oil rout is in sight than using it to progress the business. with a view to selling for profit of course.. not sure if thats permitted in the co. articles of assoc.

Is the SEY cash in the bank? Deposits or CDs? Or is it lent out for playing private corporate games? If deposit - is it free to use or is it given as assurance (mortgage) for someone else? Anybody knows about it? If not I might go to the annual report to see if I can find something. TIA

GPX share a large investor with Sey and have recently acquired Colombian acreage . A. Beardsdall was ex Emerald Energy CEO, bought out by Chinese, now is Sey CEO . is that the plan - WFord Finance to push for merger with Sey and use cash to drill Colombian wells ?

Well if there is a deal to be made it is now ! But don't take on any debt unless well covered by income . There are serious concerns about the state of the oil exploration and production (E&P) sector as the market reels from OPEC's decision not to cut output. But on the plus-side, it has allowed President Energy (PPC) to drive down the purchase price for the Puesto Guardian concession in Argentina by two-thirds to $5.8 million.

fkn hell SEY will end up acquiring Afren at this rate rather than other way round. SEY’s 100 million $ cash pile + no debt + acreage must be the envy of small and even largish producers at this time.

Why would they return cash to investors? Waterford aren't short, perhaps Soyuz could find ££s attractive but what their history implies is using reverse takeovers for listed vehicles which they later sell for good profits, Sterling has cash, a good CEO with a track record, all they need is an elephant project. That's why I hung on (as frustrated as everyone else). I don't have illusions, private shareholders don't always benefit, but I can't see the point of raiding SEY for cash when it has more value to Soyuz as a shell. Curious that Waterford are now a shareholder in the other Sterling, Sterling Resources.

Took 250k today. Unloved and just gone stale on past performance - but worth a good look now considering any potential asset acquisitions might be a lot cheaper. Any company with decent assets struggling to fund them in this climate might be up SEYs street. $106m+ (67m+ pounds) of cash + some decent licences/partners and debt free. Still on the look out for acquisitions. October 2014 share option incentives issued at 40p exercise. If no asset acquisition, possible merger strategy or could potentially return cash to investors. 220m shares in issue @ 21p (Cash value 30p). M/cap @ 21p = 48m pounds.

Unlikely IMO but you never know. Assets don't exactly match up plus waterfords involvement isn't a good thing imo

Hi all , I'm currently a holder in gpx and notice some similarities specifically regarding waterfords and souyezgasneft . These two work in concert and given they hold 45% of sey I'm surprised they have not had to bid or are hiding this fact until they get to 51% and its game over . So far waterfords involvement has only been to the detriment of both sey and gpx shareholders judging by the charts and just wondered if anything had been discussed regarding their involvement . Tia
