I wouldn't say the share price has tanked without reason. I suspect the fact that the Chinese property market is on the verge of collapsing has alot to do with the current down trend with Steppe Cements share price.

The main thing that concerns me when a good company's share price drops without apparent reason is, that it makes it an easy target for a hostile takeover at a poor value.

Still over 250k shares being dumped daily. Tomorrow's will include new stops being triggered with every half point drop. I don't think the tide is about to turn just yet. Depends on the agenda of the dumpers. How low do they want to go? If triggering stops to then mop up cheaper than they sold is the agenda, then they have to be wary of the masses deciding these prices are too good to pass on. If they aren't particularly bothered or miss the bounce, they will simply move on to do the same elsewhere. Worse case they leave us plenty cheap shares to invest or reinvest in if you were unlucky enough to be stopped out.

These were very impressive results in my opinion. The company increased cash at bank by $5.3m after investing $4.5m in capital expenditure (far higher than usual) and paying down $0.7m net in borrowings.

Company now has a healthy $13.5m in cash and cash equivalents, with positive liquidity of $9.3m (current assets less current liabilities) up from $3.7m in December. The only significant long-term liabilities being borrowings of c$3.6m.

Given the cash and liquidity position I would be astounded if there was no interim dividend, particularly given these results. $11.5m net operating cash flow coming in the weaker half of the year.

As a reminder, profits for 2020 rose from $4m at the interim, to $11m for FY and we have already done $6.2m at interim stage this year so far - we're now sat below £100m market cap. Market is bonkers imo.

For those that are selling/have sold..

Are you selling because the price is going down/has stopped going up, because there was something in/not in the accounts that you were expecting/not expecting, because you think the company is currently overvalued or some other reason?

Genuinely interested.

I bought at 23p for the dividend return. 2.5p is still a good return on original cost but not so stunning on current share price and was quite surprised given the results they cut the final dividend this year from 3p to 2.5p. So now to wait until end of October to see if paying an interim dividend is going to become the norm - if not will be reevaluating my holding. My concern is that may be there are people in the know who know an interim dividend is not going to be paid and have taken the decision I would probably take with that knowledge. People value shares in different ways depending on their investment objectives.

It's a small cap - go back test it. That kind of pullback is pretty normal

Sure feels like a collapse from someone who bought in at 59p

It's not a collapse it's back to mean trend and all the heat has come out. Uptrend still intact on a sensible timescale

Yes this collapse in share price must have something to do with Evergrande

I think its getting hammered because of evergrande, however kazak economy is strong.ENergy self sufficent and investment into food production.I view the drop as a buying oppurtunity.Much less confident about my uk stocks, easy to envisage energy and food crisis in the uk leading to a currency crisis having to be defended by interest rate rises causeing economic disaster.Having lived through the seventies it feels like the same is happening again.Quite possibly Johnson and Starmer are the worst politicians of my lifetime, neither one of them has a ounce of common sense.GLA

I suppose, on top of the general market sell-off today, there is potentially a concern over input prices for STCM?

Gas price rocketing - what impact does this have on electricity costs - anyone have any idea?

Well for my sins I have just bought back the other 35K(25K+10K) that I sold to restore my position back up to 85K. Will probably be the kiss of death now as I have a bad track record of re-entering shares that I have taken a good profit on, hopefully this will be the exception.
