07/8/2019 10:42 | I will hold long term as results read good ...company getting its act together slowly and good dividend. | spcecks
07/8/2019 09:19 | Is the divi safe though? If so it is excellent, but there was an unnerving statement in the management spiel: It is the board's intention to maintain the dividend "while the business is restructured [...] and future financial performance confirms the sustainability of this level of distribution [...]." And 8.9p for this half does not cover half of a 21.6p distribution.... | edmundshaw
07/8/2019 09:12 | Here for the divi | csalvage
07/8/2019 09:11 | I am out. This looked a nice investment on the Brexit fear drop to under 240p, but I am far from convinced by this management. I feel happier taking my little profits and moving on... | edmundshaw
07/8/2019 09:10 | i own a couple of funds of SLA that are firing .. so finding this hard to fathom | undervaluedassets
07/8/2019 08:08 | On a quick glance the latest numbers look to be moving in the right direction. Progress is slow but there is quite a large restructuring going on here. General market uncertainties are front and centre at the moment otherwise I would be anticipating a continuation of the recent recovery trend in the share price | ygor705
07/8/2019 08:01 | My optimism has evaporated ! | chinese investor
07/8/2019 07:50 | AUMs at least now moving north, EPS improving with the SBBs, but profit down to 280 M£. I think generally positive in recovery with Divi held at last yr levels. Generally Im happy with the progress to plug the leaks and start getting grasp of costs. | tornado12
07/8/2019 07:36 | Some good investment performance should keep customers happy... | edmundshaw
07/8/2019 07:29 | Decent report | joshuam
06/8/2019 15:20 | I love your positivity Chinese Investor. But, almost the whole market was trending up during the period March 2019 and end July 2019. | mcunliffe1
06/8/2019 11:11 | The trend could still be up ! | chinese investor
06/8/2019 09:35 | I was checking my pension investments this morning online with SLA. WOW! Big Drop. On closer examination I see the blighters have AGAIN cut the Terminal Bonus amounts on my three With Profit policies. Each February and lately, each August they review how the underlying investments have performed and make a decision as to how much money to take OFF the T.B. There's not been a review for the past few years that has actually failed to take money away - even with the market having performed quite well between Feb 2019 and End July 2019. I fully appreciate the turmoil we are now seeing, but this has arisen in the past week - ie. in August and hence AFTER the SLA decision to slash terminal bonus. Now, it strikes me that with such prescient insight and presumably knowing the underlying fund would go t*ts-up their decision to cut T.B. was clever. Pity though they seem to fail to apply such clever insight into their wider activities. It's at times like these when their funds mirror the dire straits of the large indices that one has to question the existance of highly paid management. But at least we've no longer got two-for-one at the top. | mcunliffe1
02/8/2019 14:39 | Biggest Duty slapper has to be the EU. That's what it's all about - protecting the farmers of France and the Industrialists of Germany. Had to laugh earlier in the week when Boris was in Wales and the Welsh farmers were whingeing about possible very high tarifs on the export of their lamb to the EU in the event of a "no-deal". In the freezer is the New Zealand leg of lamb my wife bought fresh from Tesco a few weeks ago as it was on offer. Didn't know the EU had a trade deal fully in place with New Zealand. But, in advance of a full deal their lamb seems to carry little tarif. If the EU REALLY slapped a large tarif on Welsh lamb from 200-300 miles distance from France they should be targetted by the climate protestors. It's not only a mad world it's one full of lies. | mcunliffe1
02/8/2019 14:08 | careful Chinese investor if Trump hears you he will slap more duty on your goods!! | timmy11

25/7/2019 05:17 | Does anyone know current status of company share buybacks ? | tornado12
24/7/2019 23:05 | SLA shareholders will bear the cost of the annuity mis-selling, the GBP 30m + fine will be paid from SLA shareholders revenues / capital. In my view, the Board & management should forfeit any bonuses payable in this financial year because of this regulation fine. | investoroilandgas
24/7/2019 10:38 | FionaScott1234, Following that logic the shareholders during the period of annuity misselling should bear the £30m+ fine announced in the press today. I empathise with the sentiment but it would be a nightmare to implement. I only hope the management can find some use for the money that generates a larger, ultimate return to us. As I've said many, many times in the past; SLA is NOW an investment company and if they cannot wisely invest (our shareholder's) money what hope can we have for our CHOSEN investments in their funds? | mcunliffe1
24/7/2019 09:17 | The problem is, who will light that fire? Blue Chips effectively do what they want. I've been a holder since demutulisation, I'll keep collecting the dividends & check the share price from time to time. GLA | investoroilandgas
24/7/2019 08:47 | I very much agree with your sentiment that shareholders on the register on the day that Lloyd's made the announcement should be compensated rather than SLA itself. We are still suffering from the fallout although it would be fair to say that SLA as a company and particularly the Board desperately needed a fire set under them. | fionascott1234
24/7/2019 08:15 | My SL SIPP funds are doing extremely well. My shareholding is below water but that has been balanced by the dividends. I continue to hold as SL should now head north. | chessman2
24/7/2019 08:02 | There should be shareholder compensation ! | chinese investor
23/7/2019 13:57 | always bet on the tortoise not the hare... | ramellous |
