13/4/2019 11:45 | Good week all said. Monies from Phoenix so that is why they are able to do the buy backs and also when the shares are low, seems an excellent strategy. Dividends saved over the next few years, all worked out by their 'in house 'actuaries, are not to be underestimated. We still have the Lloyds settlement to add as a sweetener........... 13/4/2019 09:36 | tornado12 I know insufficient to make a decision with regards to "Super Confident" or "Super Stupid". However, I have sufficient basic intelligence to realise that as the share price was falling it made sense to buy more shares on such a day compared to a rising share price when it made sense to hold back a little. I witnessed little variation in the volumes on such dropping and rising days back in the bad period Nov '18 to Jan '19. I suspect I've just realised which way I'm inclined to view their actions now. | mcunliffe1
12/4/2019 18:18 | Yes normally companies make BB when the business is doing well in clear waters and growing. SLA has done it in the trough of the share price curve and with still a lot is risk ahead. Either they are super confident or super stupid. I hope is the former and I’m happy to believe it with a nice divi reinvestment coming next month | tornado12
12/4/2019 09:45 | Buy Backs Rule ! | chinese investor
11/4/2019 19:54 | Thank you all for your feedback. Have a very small holding here but happy to let the dividend reinvestment fatten it up over the years. | cmackay
11/4/2019 19:50 | Not a bad day for the share. X div but a net rise of 4p. Sustained 'buy backs' are always a worthwhile feature when investing. Hopefully up tomorrow. | retsius
11/4/2019 14:46 | cmakay. Yes with all successful dividend paying shares the share price recovers that ex dividend day drop and sometimes even on ex dividend day itself. There are a lot of shares where the share price has increased many times. E.g housebuilders are big dividend payers and some have gone up 10 times and more in the last 10 years, and they are now paying investors who bought then, and still hold, a 100% dividend, and sometimes even more than that, EVERY YEAR!! | kenmitch
11/4/2019 14:16 | Cmackay, that's what we all hope. And another dividend due around September. | ramellous
11/4/2019 13:49 | Dividend 14.3p Drop 11.0p | chinese investor
11/4/2019 13:48 | I'm not that experienced with investment but I am under the impression that the dividend sized drop found on ex-divi day is usually recovered in a reasonable time, is that fair to say? As long as no separate factors cause further drop, of course. | cmackay
11/4/2019 10:16 | Very slightly up, in fact, by my reckoning. Cheers, PJ | pj fozzie
11/4/2019 09:25 | lipp4 you have been paid a very generous dividend.(14.3p) The share price is virtually unchanged if you take the dividend into account! R. | retsius
11/4/2019 09:03 | oh well back where we started... | lippy4

11/4/2019 07:52 | Don't be alarmed at the 14.3p dividend drop at the open ! | chinese investor

10/4/2019 12:04 | last chance for the divvy today. The share price will drop tomorrow, hopefully not more than div. amount but the share price should still be supported by their Buy Back programme. I believe this is terminating in July. R. | retsius
10/4/2019 07:26 | Inside an ISA, you don't pay tax on dividends. Outside an ISA, you'd get a £2,000 dividend income allowance, and above that basic-, higher- and additional-rate taxpayers would pay 7.5%, 32.5% and 38.1% respectively. | chinese investor |
