09/11/2021 13:02 | I've bought 10 of the "pieces" as well - now at 66% of their "early access goal". Looks like a good start. I'm still hoping that the money going into other collectibles will get (back) to stamps, including this one, some day, I also hope the SG marketing team are working out which social media influencers to talk to as we speak! I expect this will be an item they try to sell to visitors to their shops and I don't see why they won't manage to do so. Let's see. | jim digriz
09/11/2021 11:09 | Although I have my extensive boyhood stamp collection, I have never purchased one in my life and see no point in buying any stamp that just £75. would buy. Other than the very best,I see no value in any of the run of the mill stamps but if one has funds buy top quality investment stamps and then to let them sit in a safe or on display and pay the insurance premium, they might well be a safe bet. Selling fractions of special stamps like this, seems not only to be the cheapest way to own part of these very special items but having a more solid investment than the likes of Crypto currencies. Each to their own but the share price here will tell the story in the next twelve months. | clocktower
09/11/2021 11:06 | Thanks Magpie - any suggestions for how to spend the £75 welcome! | ijamlon
09/11/2021 11:05 | I understand the secondary market will be being created / available from March / April onwards. I am requesting 25 of these - I think as it catches on these will be quite a lucrative purchase, and let's face it, it is the nearest I or anyone else is going to personally get to owning the 1c stamp themselves! | jasdan
09/11/2021 10:54 | I'm sure that you're right Ijamion that it isn't a scam in the same way that it wasn't a scam when Gibbons spent a lot of time marketing classic stamps (real ones) to investors and guaranteeing a certain percentage return each year. The prices were based on their catalogue, you may recall, so they went up each year, as promised. There was only a problem when people then wanted to sell their stamps at the increased price, and get their money back. And it's curious that you say you can sell in the secondary market whenever you please, when there will not be a secondary market until next June, according to Showpiece. But I wish you the best of luck with your investment, I really hope it does well, as that would reflect well on the basic hobby. As others say, the market in NFTs is completely different to that for physical collectables. And maybe you might spend your £75 gift voucher on a few real stamps? | magpie52
09/11/2021 07:59 | Seems to me a lot of folk here have got perhaps a‘personalR | jasdan
09/11/2021 06:47 | In other words it's pretty similar to holding a minority share in a company. And in the same way, you can sell your shares in the secondary market whenever you please. I have no idea if it will make money but it certainly isn't a scam. I also have no idea why some people are so triggered by all this. Just don't buy a share. | ijamlon
09/11/2021 01:39 | No one buying into this mess has legal ownership anymore despite the advertising - this has been removed from the PDS. SG Ltd are now the trustee. Showpiece added 2.5% fees to the beneficial owners. SG now plan to hold the stamp "indefinitely" and 'owners' will only get a vote to sell if SG decides to sell - including if it is at a loss. Good luck to the 3,548 monkeys buying into this scam. | ternian
08/11/2021 16:34 | Calm down! This is no topic for bad tempers. People have different views, that's what makes a market and it's all fine. None of us really know the future. Anyway, I have just bought 10 tokens. I doubt it will make me rich, but I'm fascinated to see how it goes, NFTs have huge potential to change the landscape of ownership and trading. This is a much better collateralised / underpinned situation than the dodgy art works selling for $62 million! I have never bought a stamp in my life and I think many of the 'investors' will be people like me interested in real assets, long-term inflation plays, new technologies and fun investments. Time will tell. | ijamlon
08/11/2021 15:51 | Just got the email on getting a piece of the 1c magenta.A bit late but will checkout the details tomorrow.. | wapit
08/11/2021 03:57 | Magpie . You have it right. Sad rampers desperate to get their money back ! It's good their is another Stamp collector. Nice to meet you . | superiorshares
06/11/2021 09:04 | Carry on ramping Twixy, you're doing well! | magpie52
06/11/2021 08:17 | Gibbons have badly misjudged the market...because you do not agree. Zero research to back anything up.When will the old penny drop with you old people...times and habits are changing. | twixy
05/11/2021 22:19 | Since they are not being sold at all until Monday 8th November, and this only to early access subscribers (and to the public generally from Thursday November 11th) I would suggest that it is you who needs to check his facts, whilst attempting to drive the share price up for no valid reason. | magpie52
05/11/2021 21:57 | What a load of drivel, Magpie. The full 80,000 are not being sold at the start, just 5000. And from what I can understand, they’re sold out already. Once this gets fully marketed we should see the shares rally considerably | jasdan
05/11/2021 21:32 | Gibbons have badly misjudged the market here. As a stamp collector for 60 years I can say that the, admittedly diminishing, number of stamp collectors are not generally insane but they are very keen to save their money to spend on actual stamps. A very small number might collect British Guyana and they might like an ownership certificate to be able to display along with their own collection. But if Gibbons think that they can sell 80,000 pieces at £100 they are going to be disappointed. Those who registered expressing interest were doing just that - they are interested - but not in parting with their money! | magpie52
05/11/2021 19:44 | In case some of you missed my post 12 days ago here is the official info from SG"The OfferThe beneficial title to the stamp has been legally split into 80,000 equal pieces. Once on general sale, they will be priced at £100 each but during the early access period you will receive a 10% discount. "Hi There are no transaction, credit card, account management or custody fees." | wapit
05/11/2021 07:31 | LOL - what a timely fashion today’s RNS comes out, putting to bed all the issues over the ownership of the stamp. Now that is cleared up, we should really see this take off, as the sales gather pace. | clocktower
04/11/2021 16:49 | Tiarnen The price of a share in the 1c is £800 according to the e mails I have received. You are right I think , its 5000 people who have expressed an interest ie . It's costs nothing to click on the button on the Stanley page . Anyone who thinks Stanley owns anything and that includes the 1c, is THICKER than me . That takes some doing ! | superiorshares
04/11/2021 14:29 | Certainly some good buys going through over the last few days, and I see the price is now back at 3p. Let's hope for some very positive RNS's soon including a decent trading update for once as auctions / shows / etc resume. | jasdan
04/11/2021 14:09 | Hopefully this time it will breakout when the real value of what SG has done with "The Stamp". Volumes going up as investors become aware of the way the trade the stamp, via SGI's shares. | clocktower
04/11/2021 08:48 | Nothing is worthless, while there are more and more buyers to gamble, in fact more money is made gambling than most other forms of wealth creation. Exciting times for SG. | clocktower
04/11/2021 08:40 | Ha! Sure...let me know when ya momma kicks you out 'cause your super-duper stamp NFT is worthless. | ternian
04/11/2021 08:04 | LOL - old and stuck. | twixy
04/11/2021 07:04 | You need to stop living in the past - stamp collecting is not a viable business as the addressable market is dying by the day.Disney are launching NFTs...with VeVe. | twixy |
