12/6/2021 10:48 | The need to post multiple times must a something to do with the simple mind of constant naysayers. I guess a Bad Loser will always try to justify their losses by denigrating what they consider to be the cause of their losses, rather than accepting they're just hopeless at picking winners :) | gbh2
12/6/2021 06:57 | Wapit Phoenix paid nothing for their 58 per cent shareholding . It was a issue that was part of the agreement for Phoenix to take the debt of the Bank.. otherwise the Bank was pulling the Rug . | superiorshares
11/6/2021 22:10 | Wapit, you can’t get in much lower than the current price range - bear in mind that even Phoenix paid 2.5p for each of their 58% share. I reckon the shares are about to explode upwards | jasdan
11/6/2021 21:23 | Sounds promising this, also down on interest list. With NFTs taking off this actually has something in it, could have legs getting in early hhmmmm | wapit
11/6/2021 16:51 | Results for 2020 should show an improvement as the year progressed. The first half was weaker than the second so turnover must be higher for H2. Clearly with the shop shut and the country in lockdown trading was subdued. There should be an improving picture since April 2021 as things have begun reopening, and the auction results have been excellent as well. However, it is the future period in which things should really start sparkling as shows restart, exhibitions are staged again and the shop sees a much larger number of visitors. Add in a few good auction results and we should be trading in the black for the first time in years. Costs have been so cut that I don't think it will now take much more turnover to pull us into the black. 2020 will show a minimal loss, but 2021 should be different. The new initiative with the rarest stamp and the crypto stamp should bring a lot of media interest into the equation - this should lead to increased interest in the shares and a recovering share price. | jasdan
11/6/2021 16:29 | No J - I am almost fully invested at present in a range of shares, bar a bit of day trading punting money for news worthy shares. Its going to be a long haul like HRN was (I got out a while ago though of HRN at a small profit), so just have to sit tight until it spikes, then top slice and wait for the balance to mature. However, until results or more news we will just have to wait to see how positive a statement is issued with the results, which to be fair will be pretty poor I expect, hence the low share price at the moment. I would not be surprised to see a slight drop in the early morning of the results and then a quick recovery on the back of the forward statement. | clocktower
11/6/2021 13:04 | Are you buying any more ahead of the results, next month? Should be very positive hopefully, especially regarding how they see things shaping up over the forthcoming year [April 2021 onwards] | jasdan
11/6/2021 12:49 | It seems the overhang is cleared, so we are go to move forward. | clocktower
10/6/2021 12:34 | When you look at the ten year graph, it is pretty clear that this stock is capable of rising very sharply indeed. I am certainly not saying it will go back to £3.30 a share any time soon, but it is fairly illiquid, afterall Phoenix own over half the shares. Once a few buyers come in and the price gets pushed to say 6p+ it will start to attract momentum. Around 9p values it at £50m which then attracts press coverage as many institutions won't look at tiny companies. In my view Clock, this is currently underpriced to quite some degree, but it is also under the radar of most institutional buyers, and that won't change until it gets pushed more clearly into view by buyers. The latest RNS should greatly assist, as should next month's results and forward looking statement. Personally I expect this to start moving up at a rate of knots soon, especially as footfall in London increases again once the pandemic lockdown lifts. | jasdan
10/6/2021 12:03 | I think your running ahead of reality J - maybe £100m within a couple of years but £24/36m very soon quite possibly. I expect that when it does really breakout it will hit 5/6p quickly. However, when it spikes, then is a good time to top slice a few, and bank some of the profits. As you know it's all about finding stocks that are low risk, when they are not far off the floor - bottom fishing always takes time and as I am happy to sit and wait rather than invest in flying high risk traders games, although often rewarding for a bit of fun punting, any serious investment takes a lot of research when you commit substantial amounts, and being willing to wait until they mature is part of the game. SGI - is one of those stocks, as is PTD which along with others like CRU I have followed for many years - sometimes getting the timing a little wrong but then being able to wait and benefit from the recovery. Another interesting stock is BBSN to watch, which at present is only on my watch list but well worth keeping an eye on. At the moment this and PTD are high on my list with MUL also now on the road to recovery imo. As always DYOR. | clocktower
10/6/2021 11:06 | Clock, I see this share doubling or tripling in the near future. What's your view, and over what time period? This was a ground breaking announcement, it's time for them to collaterise it properly and publicise it etc. The end result should be a marked increase in the shares. Really, when you think about it, how on earth can a company with such a prestigious London operation and address, a successful auctions dept, a major publications dept, all the sales side, Baldwins, Murray Payne, etc - how can all this only be valued at 3.15p a share = £12m market cap? The whole thing should be well over £100m. And it holds the Royal Warrant as well as now owning the rarest stamp. | jasdan
10/6/2021 10:55 | Funny that Super doom should talk of HRN when they have just presented the best set of accounts for many years today, and into profit once again lifting providing even more support for the share, not that I think there is likely to be huge uplift in the share price over the next 12 months, unlike what is almost certainly bound to perform like SGI, as the share price could easily treble in the next 12 months if not before imo. DYOR. | clocktower
10/6/2021 08:08 | Agree 100% | jasdan
10/6/2021 07:59 | What a load of clap trap from super doom. The stamp was purchased by Stanley with an interest free loan. This is better than a mortgage that most companies would happily take out on a business attraction they were buying but it is entirely without risk. Of course Phoenix want the money back with interest but as a back stop, even if they lost money on the sale SGI would not be out of pocket. No bank would offer that deal on a property or business purchase. Upwards and onwards while the dope licks his stamps and sprouts nonsense. | clocktower
09/6/2021 19:02 | I think Hornby will be absorbed into the Phoenix nest too , shortly . | superiorshares
09/6/2021 18:54 | Sikhthetech I agree with you. That this purchase is very positive for the shop . Ie people come into to have a look and buy something whilst they are there . However this Stamp is not owned by Stanley. If it is sold at a profit . They will get 50 per cent of the profit , that does not include the capital . My bigger concern is the impending tie up with Castle now Castle now is owned by Phoenix . Some years ago Stanley tried to do exactly the same as Castle now . They employed a young American man as a director to set it all up . They spent millions on it , then it was all dissolved . Who bought the remnants ?.. wasn't phoenix by any chance ? Also some years ago , Stanley set up an investment scheme in The Channel Islands . It was bankrupted . The Stamps were bought off the receiver for a song . Stanley is now selling them for the purchaser on a commission basis .. The Purchaser .. Phoenix :-) My point is it doesn't look to me like their is much left for present retail investors . Phoenix is the biggest shareholder , they got those shares for free as part of the deal to prevent Stanley being bankrupted. Now I think this Castle now tie up maybe the final nail in the coffin for present retail holders ? | superiorshares
09/6/2021 18:34 | For anyone interested in SGI ?.. I leave out ramping children . Wait for this tie up with Castle now . Me thinks there is going to be yet more dilution for present holders . | superiorshares
09/6/2021 10:14 | This one stamp is valued at more than the current Market Cap of SGI, and when they sell "atoms" of it the interest free loan should soon be paid off and a fair bit spare plus the stamp. | clocktower
09/6/2021 08:14 | It seems that at long last the word is spreading, wait for the stampede to start. Selling digital art is all the rage and the same will apply to almost priceless goods imo. "Philmiboots8 Jun '21 - 18:59 - 4301 of 4311 0 0 0 Express your interest in purchasing a few atoms of the stamp here:- | clocktower
09/6/2021 06:51 | A fraction of the stamp is better than bitcoin. SGI own the stamp and the company will receive the bulk of the money from the sale of the parts of it,making the shares like gold bars. So the majority shareholder has undoubtedly stuck the biggest gold mine imaginable imo. | clocktower
09/6/2021 06:48 | Hi J, good to see we still have Super doom with us and continues scoffing away about the business, as he has done over the past six months or so since I posted about the potential investment in SGI around six months ago, I think. Well today it seems as though it is coming home to lay it’s eggs. With a number and of fresh posters on the thread already. The characters will be joining the hunt before long, so sit tight and enjoy the ride. Expect MM games. | clocktower |
