09/11/2006 11:21 | Having another read of the last results I see: "The gross margin for the six months ended 30 June 2006 was 48% compared to 54% for the same period last year. Cost of sales includes a provision of #121,000 made in the period against guaranteed minimum return investment contracts. The guaranteed minimum return offered on investment contracts of between 4% and 7% per annum is being fully provided for against cost of sales over the length of the contract term." Does anyone know if they still sell these guaranteed return contracts and if not, how much is outstanding? | wjccghcc
09/11/2006 11:06 | Maybe, I'd rather have it invested in SGI though | cambium
09/11/2006 10:59 | The previous special divi was 8p so 14p would be more trhan feasable. | tom.muir
09/11/2006 10:30 | I dont think it would be worth it this time, it equates to no more than 14p and would cost alot to distribute imo, buy some more stamps! | cambium
09/11/2006 10:26 | So far as the divi is concerned it would not surprise me if we see another 'special' divi. They were sitting on £3.3m cash at the half way point and I would guess that it has increased to at least £4m by year end. They are on record as saying that surplus cash that they don't need for the business will be returned to shareholders. Tom | tom.muir
09/11/2006 09:42 | I see a sell of 40,000 which isn't a bad thing as the market makers won't want to lower the price now for the day and make a loss on buying them in. We shall see anyway. Then again, Maybe the 40,000 was a buy too. Livinghope....Your correct about the divi.Great little divi and with their results and track record and share price in the blue.....Say no more. Regards , Moneybags | moneybags
09/11/2006 09:20 | My purchase of Stanley Gibbons is showing as 13,532 sell because of the delay in reporting and the subsequent movement in the price - IT SHOULD BE SHOWN AS A BUY! | livinginhope
09/11/2006 09:20 | nms is 2000, it could be delayed up to 2 hours or it may otherwise be reported on Plus markets | cambium
09/11/2006 09:06 | I bought 13,532 at 147p this morning although not yet showing in trades as yet. Barclays Stockbrokers told me as this is well above the normal market size, the deal doesnt have to be put on straight away. May have helped to move the price up a bit today but I am expecting a whole lot more in the run up to next results and thereafter. Nice dividend too!! | livinginhope
09/11/2006 08:54 | It's on the move again. Our Bank,Coutts was having an evening do, along with Bonhams last night and I got talking to the head of the stamp department for Bonhams and he was saying the market has never been stronger for good quality stamps. American stamps seem to be harder to shift though, showing the weakness of the dollar. Regards ,Moneybags | moneybags
30/10/2006 08:06 | Up 2p first thing today with no trades listed. This could be a sign that a large but order is being filled in the background and will show ater in the day. | gregory0106
13/10/2006 14:02 | Buyers seem to have appeared out of the woodwork and the price is on the move!!! | ygor705
12/10/2006 19:17 | It'll jog up as Xmas approaches. | fred123
12/10/2006 16:22 | Looks like someone was listening - up 2p today. Its a start! | gregory0106
11/10/2006 16:28 | Stanley Gibbons does this. It sits doing nothing for weeks sometimes, then when it does move,it can move 10p to 20p in a few days.Good wee trading share. Regards , Moneybags | moneybags
11/10/2006 14:44 | gone a bit quiet here - surely about time sgi ticked up towards 160p again | its the oxman
04/10/2006 12:58 | I will be at Philatex 2006 in London on the first day,26th Oct if anyone wants a chat at lunch time. I booked an early flight so should be there for the doors opening. Regards , Moneybags | moneybags
27/9/2006 23:14 | Are SG going to be at IX exchange this year at the Olympia in October? should provide a filip if they do | cambium
19/9/2006 15:17 | It's his usual effect though. As a tipster he is second only to Mark Watson Mitchell aka Dr Death for putting the kiss of death on a share by tipping it. SGI however is good enough to recover. Tom | tom.muir
19/9/2006 09:52 | Tom's effect was not what you'd call substantial was it! | cambium
08/9/2006 17:03 | Received into nominee account on the 4th of Sept. | djpvjc
08/9/2006 16:58 | Thanks guy's. However, the web site (as above) says the following "9th August 2006 - Interim Dividend Ex-Dividend Date 11th August 2006 - Interim Dividend Record Date 11th September 2006 - Interim Dividend Payment Date" which is diferent from the info published with the accounts (see penpont above) Anyone know which version is actually correct & how can they be so different? Good weekend to you all Greg | gregory0106 |
