Yes, agree, results look excellent - should hopefully lead to speedy upgrades for this year and next. 200p looks a comfortable year end target.

excellent results.

Add the increase in H1 to last years earnings and they have already beaten the 10.9p eps estmate for this year - weighted earnings to H2 looks like they could do well over 10p in H2 imo. 40%+ growth ?

50% divi hike.

looks like the 14.6p eps forecast for next year will be well beaten this year if this keeps up.

Single digit fwd PE?

Looks like you are not the only one topping up given the 3p rise today. More to come I think.

Stamp auction prices for better material have continued to be excellent in the last few months after the Spanish fraud problems, IMHO that has not made any difference at all to SG, either short term or looking forward. Serious collectors (the ones SG likes) build collections over years, even decades and will pay no attention to temporary blips in the market.

I am expecting good results and a positive outlook and have topped up on that basis.

SGI - "the stamp of excellence" :-)

How much for a strapline like that? :-)

I think they will be good - punters always let adjacent issues ofer excite them to the good and the bad.

The investment side of things which is just a small part of SGI should in fact have picked up investors after this that want a reliable long standing company now.

The Spaninsh market is also a very small part of SGI.

After speaking to the FD after the Spain thing he agreed that as far as they were concerned it was all a load of nonsene. Think they will surprise to the upside rather nicely.

Follow the link below to the corporate calendar which confirms interims on 28th July plus XD date etc. Not easy to find - access is in the Q&A section of the investor relations section!

Best make a phone call to the company and speak to the FD I'd have thought, hear it from the horse's mouth.

Reckon the buying will pick up next week before the results on Aug1 myself.

Dear All
I was wondering if you guys could answer some questions I have about this stock

1)What are the profit margins for
a) Stamps ranging in price from £50 to £5000
b) The financial Products
c) The publishing business

2) Is this company continually cutting costs? I noticed the firm was making a loss a 6 years ago, was this due to the cyclical nature of the stamp market or was this due to bad business practice

3)It has been mentioned on this thread that they have a bad sales force for their financial products. has this improved?

4)They spend money on research and development, has this been effective?

5) Do they retain there expert staff? Do they have difficulty finding expert staff?

Any replies would be most welcome

Yes, I am sure that after the results we will see a lot more press talk & a re-rating.

This company is so undervalued at the moment, the scandal in Spain that scared some people away (temporarily I believe) give us a good chance to pick up a bargain! Does anyone else think these shares may be rerated soon? The PE looks very reasonable considering the earnings growth over the last 4 years.

Cheers,
