As I said above I'm mostly cash given global uncertainty notably Trump Trade Wars, Italian debt/banks, Russian meddling in Europe and of course Brexit! Markets appear very nervous with plenty of sellers and not many buyers currently - no light at the end of the tunnel as far as I can see!

I currently have a small (relative to last year) position in PLUS. Not without risk but liquid enough to trade in and out quickly and some longer term investments in boring high yield stocks especially where earnings are mostly not GPB. In other words not Trading just looking for a relatively safe home for cash. (Sadly most held in zero interest trading accounts so earning -RPI!)

Have a good Christmas - see you in 2019

Dave

Thank you for the response although my posts were clearly lost on you, although you did say you were an accountant didn't you ?

So have you got a strategy of your own then ?

DJtrading, do you buy today and hold for a few weeks?"

No - Price had already moved on the gallery picture and I'm generally staying in Cash whilst Brexit plays out!

Yump appears desperate for my attention! (3 posts in a row in just 24 minutes!!!!!)

Blimey Yump 24 minutes between your posts!!!! - I have better things to do than monitor ADVFN all day. You appear desperate for me to comment!!!

Anyway I have this for you
11.11 am BE "We're back in risk off mode. FTSE, CAC, Dax all off 2.5%,...Brent off 4.8%."

That's from today's FT Alphaville - I know how you hate me using the term "risk off" - so here's a link to today's Alphaville. You can leave your comments for Bryce at the bottom!

I don't think that we can ever over-estimate the influence of Brigadier Siyadi. It seems everyone wants to meet with him, not out of protocol.

Shame that we cannot track the progress of these M/E projects.

Usually after a contract RNS the share price goes up and after a couple of days profit taking comes along. I was hoping that this might be the case this time.. but I am beginning to have my doubts. A major slice of this company is held by long term believers and they are taking a three to five year outlook. When I look at the register there is not one institution with over 3%. If someone takes a shine to this one and wants to take 5% they will have to bid up.
PS. I opened my pot of jam yesterday and very delicious it was .
Thank you to Louise

Stock very tight. Please can sellers step up to the mark. Market makers did not want to quote for a sensible block. Better luck tomorrow?

I don't want to get your or anybody's hope up or down, but it seems to me that Indonesia is still some way in the future.

Was/is the "other" $100m. country Indonesia?

I must have missed an episode or two and trying to catch up.

And thanks for the detective work you and others do to give this board an inside edge.

I can't, at least to people who have an attention span. One has been postponed, the other cancelled and re-tendered.

Bakky, I think it was, supplied the original link to Qnective along with the country name check and photo op for the government ministers. C5 managed to intuitively find the original bidding documents for the Philo 2 project on the BFAR website. Neither of which anyone else here was aware of. It's a kind a magic, I guess.

Point is, that Bakky no doubt posted the Qnective info over there.

The March 2016 RNS (MDM System Supply Agreement Signed)refers to the customer as "a large country in Asia". Contract value US$100m over 3 years

On 18 July 2018 the RNS referred to a change in the contract of a "SE Asian" government project announced in "March 2018". There does to appear to have been an RNS in March 2018.

- and today's RNS names the customer as "The Philippine Government".

I can understand some confusion arising.

Takes a while for things to sink in and SRT is still probably off the radar to some extent.

Also, a 12% rise in pretty dire markets aint too shabby.

The main point being that, the evidence for those that do watch this is, the sausage machine is now cranking out sausages to go with all the jam. ;-)

Proof of the VPN including other contracts soon expected has gained credibility.

SRT has now firmly moved from just box shifting to also include being a full MDM systems provider - remembering that the core business is expected to grow nicely too, which provides welcome steady revenue streams, there were a few interesting news items in recent webcast looking at some interesting forthcoming deals which will add to core revenue profile.

More sausage than a breakfast can handle.

No, Hjb1

To be fair you did try to reconnect that poor sap with reality.

Just an example of how little attention people pay to what are enormously significant things - assuming that this Agamemnon fellow is a shareholder or at the very least a follower of SRT. If SRT had had a contract shrunk from £90 million to £31 million, would a 'lukewarm rise' be appropriate or more of a run for the hills?

Ignorance is a factor to be sure. Over on Bakky/HJB1's channel, there is this gem:

'Positive news at last re the renegotiated contract. A question remains whereby the initial contract, March 2016, was for £90-100m & this seems to have been haggled down to £31m!? Maybe the reason for the lukewarm share price rise; share price was over 50p prior to the need to renegotiate.'

Razor sharp that lad! Particularly given that both countries are named in their respective RNS's.

Be good in some ways, if these contracts were spread out over quite a few years, as this one is, then wouldn't get sudden variations in revenue/profit. Nicer for the in and out brigade if results are very lumpy, but better for a stable rating if they're reliably growing.

I’ve been out and about today so not much opportunity to think let alone post. Like others here I agree the muted price reaction is largely down to not really understanding what SRT are about. I suspect the average PI will look at this and think it’s just a one off contract win. They will have little idea that SRT have been busily constructing a conveyor belt of similar opportunities. Once the general perception moves to recognising that this is a business with multiple repeat opportunities each of which has an element of recurring revenue then I expect the share price to shift a gear or two. Meanwhile the patient long suffering jam tomorrow brigade who frequent this board and turn up for AGMs have a distinct edge. I for one hope there is some drift in the share price to enable a little more topping up.

I see that exactEarth has popped up and thought it might be some sort of read across. It isn't. They have issued convertible debentures, mainly to existing shareholders.

The review didn't conclude that anything was possible. Massive dilution, 120% more new shares if the debentures convert (at 50 cents), bust if they don't. I much prefer SRT's lean financing methods.

I'm fairly sure that a lot of the revenue from this project is due in the early stages - so to be conservative let's say £10 million this coming year - and add in £5 million from the general worldwide hardware sales. Current market cap is around £40 million. I suspect the market reaction is muted because we have a history of not actually receiving the money from announced contracts and it's just PI's buying today. Once we actually have the money in the bank from this and any other projects (and remember, Simon's guess was 2-3 contracts signed by Xmas) then I'm expecting this to fly. Til the cash is proven to be real I suspect we're in the lap of the gods - but shouldn't be long to wait!

Probably take the next contract to catapult the share price.

If you divide £31mln by four (although it won't necessarily go like that) its £7mln+ a year, which isn't enough to jump the total revenue to anything startling, because of the lack of other projects. Its a very nice backbone though.

One more would do it imo.

goodapple - I agree. I think the potential of SRT, and the growth it could achieve, are largely underestimated in the market. It may take some time and the attention additional 'wins' will bring, to encourage a bit more research and subsequent appreciation.

I think two thing hold back the share price: the "jam tomorrow" / missed targets legacy, and the lack of understanding what SRT and its markets are all about.
I hope with the confirmation of this contract win that a couple of decent scribblers can work out what potential begins to open up in terms of add-ons for this customer and impact on other countries with similar maritime requirements.
Some well written press articles about this dedicated little company from MSN are required.

Like owenski I would expect to see some more share price improvement in the weeks ahead.
