My guess was 52p (4870) and I'd still be happy with that.
Happier still with 81p, and the lashings of jam on the toast.

£8.10 don't think so Countryman unless you know something we don't. 81p would be good though.

On a different note our resident doomster seems to have gone into hibernation after all those prophesies of imminent disaster did not materialise. We all make wrong calls though.

That wouldn't surprise me, another abberation in the level playing field that private investors and institutions are supposed to have. Just like the opportunity to take part in new discounted share issuance.
We may not get the details of the forecast but the figures should at least find their way onto the digital look, Stockopedia et al, boards.

I spoke with finnCap. They told me there was no current (last week) broker forecast and that any future forecast would not be available to individuals, even if private clients of finnCap. Pretty weird but apparently true. The chap seems very open an honest. I feel rather sorry for any finnCap private client, but maybe they do not have many. Seek any forecast from your stockbroker, basically.

Next week should see new forecasts for 2019 and hopefully an upgrade of the 2018 forecast when results are out on the 7th June.

2017 estimated EPS are for 0.15p, we know that will come in at circa 0.75p from the trading update of the 13th.

2018 is a derisory 0.58p, I would be very dissapointed if this is not increased and 2019 should smash 2018 with current projects underway.

A few interesting pics in SRT's gallery:

Top left to right:

1. 'Prime Minister of Malaysia inspects GeoVS maritime tracking and management system' (28th April 17).

2. 'Bahrain Coast Guard showcases successful national AIS vessel management system from SRT in Dubai' (3rd April 17).

3. 'Philippines Coast Guard evaluates GeoVS' (15th March 2017).

I don't think the Philippines is a constituent of the current VSP.

Any reason this BB has gone deathly quiet. It hasn't been closed has it? Not asking for pointless contributions for the sake of it but just wondered if I had missed something.

I would direct any further detailed questions to the company, SRT, as I suggested.

My view is the article you have linked to is not the 'SRT system' as SRT are involved (and are not the lead contractor) in a MDM system which will take around three years to set up, and we are just over a year into that process.

I don't see any real significance to SRT from the article other than increasing awareness of illegal and unreported fishing is a good thing.

Where the article refers to VMS you are talking, imo, about the larger fishing vessels in Indonesia's fleet. The aim of the current project is to encompass practically all the fishing vessels, so ranging from not much bigger than a plank of wood (!) right up to the ocean going trawler type vessels. The vast majority of fishing vessels are not covered by VMS as they are simply too small to be practically or effectively monitored. This is where SRT come in.

It is worth reading the initial announcement again very carefully, great deal of info in it

Thank you TP,

My questions, and those of others, arose due to the following article ...

Big Data Brings Big Transparency to Indonesia’s Fisheries
May 1, 2017
by Johnna Armstrong
Indonesia is leading the way towards a new era of transparency in fisheries management by making its Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) data available to Global Fishing Watch (GFW). This is an unprecedented move. ... ...

Basically:
- is it the STR system that is being referred to?
- and what is the significance for SRT?

TIA

Hi Piedro

I will attempt to answer your question re VMS.
If my attempts fall somewhat short, the best thing to do is to drop the chief exec Mr Tucker an email. His email address is at the bottom of all the RNS releases and SRT are very investor friendly.

The different terms MDM, VMS and VTS cover a range of applications.

We have MDM- Marine Domain Management
VMS- vessel Monitoring Systems
VTS- vessel tracking services.

SRT’s description of these different applications is described in more detail here:

VMS, as your post indicates, is nothing new. A good description of VMS is here:

So, if it’s nothing new, what are SRT bringing to the party? SRT decided quite a time ago that the AIS system, developed initially just as an anti-collision system, could have applications way beyond that. AIS is one of the cheapest froms of communication and SRT realised that the AIS system would mean that you could effectively track and monitor vessels for a fraction of the cost of other systems, eg Immarsat tracking of thousands of fishing bosts would cost a fortune, assuming you could overcome the very real difficulties of putting a receiver on a 20ft boat with no electricity.

SRT have gone on to develop the worlds best AIS transponders and equipment offering superior performance over their competitors. And, crucially, through the acquisition of a company called GeoVS a few years ago SRT are now able to offer a complete suite of visual and data analytics information. This now enables SRT to fuse together different feeds, such as radar, AIS and CCTV into SRT’s top end MDM system.

SRT have moved over the last few years from being a company that supplied ‘boxes’ in the form of Class A and Class B transponders to a company that is now supplying complete systems, the benefit of that is that SRT are gaining revenues across a whole range of products and services and are becoming indispensable to the countries they are working with.

The MDM initial system was for Bahrain. Now SRT have projects with a further two M.east countries, a large SEAsia country, possible follow on projects from Bahrain as well as a validated sales pipeline in excess of $200m. Whilst it has taken a little while to reach this point, momentum is now with SRT, as the last 6 months period shows and I believe we should be in for an exciting time ahead, although there are bound to be a few frustrations along the way.

The revenues look set to increase dramatically over the next few years and with SRT’s excellent margins and close eye on costs, that should translate through to growing profits and happy shareholders!

Hope that helps, as ever, please dyor.

pi0110, thanks. Yes, Hawkeye 360 seems to focus on a range of electromagnetic frequency ranges, with a view to analysing this spectrum, so I guess Maritime Domain Awareness is not a primary function, and it is not really a competitor (at least at the moment).

Buddy

There are more knowledgeable posters on here than me but this...

"HawkEye 360 expects to differentiate from other Automatic Identification System (AIS)-collecting entities by its ability to independently geolocate a ship’s AIS broadcast. This will allow HawkEye 360 to compare the self-reported geolocation to its own calculated geolocation, and identify ships that are misrepresenting their true locations."

leads me to believe that it is an add on feature rather than a true Maritime Domain Awareness system.
