I don't see why you are all so convinced that SRT have been up to something surreptiously either alone or with someone else and in breach of their previous agreement. They had a mutually exclusive agreement and there would be serious damages to contemplate. Unless eE were stupid enough to grant them a waiver for breach of contract, I don't think anything has been done.

That, of course, does not mean that things could not move rapidly and it certainly seems that SRT have definite ideas. I note TP's comment about the new Identifier. Tucker refused to say much about it at the AGM.

But as it stands, I would maintain that both ABSEA and eE, particularly with the Harris/Iridium aspect, are outstanding assets for SRT.

I suspect you are right! I would think it highly likely that SRT have been working on this for a while.

LAV.
I suspect that the necessary technology has already been perfected, hence the statement. We have yet to be given it 'label'

LaV, cheeky!

Still, I would rather they played safe wrt to the patent than find they could come a cropper all for the sake of a bit of loose change.

laV, I haven't got any info on non-ABSEA tech either, but it seems pretty clear that that is where SRT are heading:

Simon Tucker, CEO of SRT Marine Systems plc said: "Satellite data is an important accessory option within our MDM system offer. This new agreement enables SRT to leverage our market position and develop and implement new technology and commercial innovations in this field independently. This will enhance the satellite data product and service options we can offer into the market with our MDM system. Our customers will benefit from increased flexibility and service levels to meet their varied requirements."

The crucial bit being

'... develop and implement new technology and commercial innovations in this field independently..'

I see the new Identifier product tied up in all of this. SRT are in the driving seat and ST can see SRT can get a bigger share of the pie without EE. It could also be that EE, being a US centric organisation, is not ideal for some countries.

No doubt all will be clearer in due course, but I take the move as being very positive for SRT, otherwise SRT would not have made this move.

I think we might be at risk of forgetting that eE will have the Iridium constellation up, starting soon, on which SRT in effect get a free ride.

I, for one, have no information at all about any possible non-ABSEA technology that SRT have developped, and I doubt that they have. However, with India and possibly other countries that either have their own satellites or existing commercial ties with other providers, it might be that they want to mesh their current stuff (Class A) with ABSEA data derived from eE.

Another point is that the real-time coverage seems a bit of an overkill, except for Identifiers transmitting every five minutes. Depending on the success rate, that would seem about right.

Not I feel in anyway related to SRT but a general warning for shareholders and the dangers of compliant appointees. This sucks mightily.

ShareSoc Advises Investors to Vote Against Berkeley Remuneration Report

ShareSoc (the UK Individual Shareholders Society) is advising its Members to vote against the Remuneration Report resolution at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting of Berkeley Group Holdings Plc. ShareSoc considers:

- The 2011 LTIP plan total payouts are likely to be more than £400 million and are excessive. The plan dilutes shareholders by 14%, even though awards were made towards the bottom of the cycle. The dilution should have been half of what was agreed. This is an unnecessary transfer of wealth from shareholders to management.

- The remuneration of the Chairman Tony Pidgley is unnecessarily high (£21 million in 2015/16 and £23 million in 2014/15, plus the potential of a further £100 million). The main reason for the high pay is the excessively generous 2011 LTIP scheme, of which he receives 30% of the total pot.

....and more.

quite possibly, but it seems pretty clear that SRT are in the driving seat on this one.

Interesting LaV re EE and ABSEA. I reckon ABSEA could be a dead duck now, well, least as far as SRT are concerned as clearly SRT have got something in mind. I wonder how long SRT have been working on alternatives? A lot earlier than last week's news seems a certainty.

Would hololens technology such as that demonstrated here hxxp://www.airlive.net/video-incredible-holoflight-app-to-visualize-real-flight-data-in-3d-as-holograms/ for air traffic applications have any practical/actionable/advantage/relevance for SRT? Or is this just 'pie in the sky' type technology?

See those last two trades? It has been similar for a while now, someone offloading in 25k, 50k, whatever round number chunks, and yet no >3% shareholder has declared a reduction.

I expect this FY to be exceptionally good (not LaValmy's 'modest').

Agreed that 1st half will not set the pulses racing too much.

'Pale into insignificance' comes to mind re this year.

Even if they do seal a deal in the next few weeks nothing from any new deal would drop into H1,so H1 will be dire to unexceptional. Core and existing mandates plus a smidgeon more from Indonesia. That is all irrelevant.

Even if they seal some deals in the next few months, little of that will drop into this financial year. Only the Phase 2 from Indonesia might have a material impact and that is if Indonesia decide to roll out the shore-based kit to the 30-40 or so places already built.

My hope is that this FY is modest as well, but that they sign 2-4 more deals before the year-end with little of that shipping until 17/18 and thereafter. That will provide the certainty of double digit EPS which will propel the share price to the next level.

The value on 6th April is important to me, the higher the better, but, until I can add the extra shares that I want, it suits me that for now there is no significant news flow and some pretty lacklustre interims. I think there is a reasonable chance of that scenario playing out. Here's hoping that after all the delays over the years, that they can manage another couple of months!
