The volumes were certainly helped along by a trade of half a million, followed by one of just over 5 million, recorded at around 2 o’clock. That’s certainly has livened the market up, with several trades being pushed through since then.

I still can’t get my head around why Spire trading is always so slow to get going, with hardly any shares traded in the first hour? It seems to have been like that for quite some time now, so there is probably a reason I’m not aware of.

A belated Happy New Year to you, paradores, may all your trades be winners.

Good luck everyone, Sid.

Bullish reversal, coming off the MA nicely on good volumes. Support @ £1.35

Too early to call but £1.50 will be coming into view soon enough.

As tree-shakes go, that was a pretty lacklustre effort...

Sub £1.50 buy price still offers great upside with a 12-18 month view.
Highly vulnerable to a hostile offer iro £2 esp over coming months unlikely perhaps but poss before FY results.

Hey Sid - HNY, I think the share price will break through those levels in the not too distant future - important do so if they’re to avert a hostile offer @ that ~£2 mark

Good to see the 141p level broken on every one of the last 3 trading days, albeit on meagre volume at the quietest time of the year.

A bit of stabilisation around this level is just the order of the day, before a hopeful assault onto higher peaks in 2020.

Immediate targets are an optimistic intra-day level of 178.9p from 30th August and a closing price of 176.2p from 29th August. Both look a far way off at present, but hopefully achievable at some time in the New Year

Good luck for 2020 everyone, Sid.

Any one else had the experience of selling more than the 30% in the tender? I thought it might happen that other holders in the pool that is Hargreaves Lansdown's holding may have missed the action. So I tendered all 100%. I didnt expect to be able to sell 50% though.

Today’s intra auction: once again over the offer and opening UT Price - as its a ‘multi lateral take’ on the market for the equity this is an increasingly significant, and in this case, bullish indicator.

“Am I missing anything?” Not that I can see jd. (eom) ;)

Connor, Clark etc now stumbling toward the exit. Better late than never.

Edit: See someone slapped a paltry £30k of ATs on the bid 30min after the opening bell. Bit lame.

Does anyone out there have a view on book value? It seems to me that even if you exclude the intangibles on the balance sheet that the book value 509mln (ie total assets ie 1712 less intangibles of 518 less liabilities of 685 which = 509mln). Market cap at closing share price of 133 is 533. So it is trading flat(ish) to book value.
Am I missing anything? Clearly the main asset is property. Does this make anyone else feel like the shares are a call option even after the recent recovery?

An excellent move higher in the last 40 minutes trading today to take out the recent intra-day high.

Now onwards and upwards to 141p in the very near future (hopefully).

Good luck everybody, Sid.

So the re-rate finally begins. Long ‘ol way to go...

Hmmm, something bigger than the “all-aboard221;-now-let’s-re-rate story I reckon. Big positions have been taken in recent sessions. Spire could be a tasty snack @£2, though not convinced that would now be successful- given the certainty of at least 5 years’ Conservative admin, come Easter, maybe not £2.50 or £3.00. Interesting next few weeks ahead.

Saludos El Sid!
Some pretty significant positions taken in recent days and gains largely being held, there will of course be an inevitable test-mini-retrace that said appetite for stock at these low levels seems too great. Reckon £1.50 could be broken before the NY.

Just the intra-day high of 131.8p from 18/10 to be taken out, then it's full steam ahead for 141p.

Good luck everybody, Sid.

Much of today’s gains on v high vols held with a solid after hours UT.
This really feels like the start of the re-rate.
Much more upside reward for patient holders and of course divi payments! Income+Capital growth. Lovely SIPP stock to acquire sub £1.50 IMHO.

GBP FX re-rate will benefit Spire next year. That’s on top of operational improvements and new service introductions.

Do we have a mini short squeeze brewing? £1.45 to £1.70 near term range target.
If £1.35 is broken and holds above, it’s £1.70 in the sights.

Edit: with greater certainty in the UK market could a sub £2 offer for SPI be imminent?
