Do you hold any SDY shares ?

...you never know, it might grind all the way back up to 70p.

~200k shares sold
~ 0 bt

Yet the sh. price is markedly up today.

Interesting.

Is there phps a big buy trade that has not yet been reported ?

(A trade for 130k shares did appear, that looked like a buy)

sometimes it feels like a slow rise

but
looking at the chart the up part from 31p has been fast

while on an hourly basis it feels slow

My feeling this time around the share price is going to make a concerted attempt to get up to the old trusted 39p support level.
Certainly a see-saw battle just to get there.

SDY price to sell now over 37.0p

2 big trades today, whether they are matched trades is another question.
My guess is that they are both buys, filled over the last days.

FTSE soars after inflation falls to 7.9%, much lower than expected.Should have good knock on effect here, as interest rates will hopefully start dropping faster than expected.

I think it is a term with a wide range of possible meanings

Perhaps wife, partner, sister, daughter, personal assistant, administrator of his trust funds etc,.....

Parob, is she a director?
RNS says she is a PCA of the Non Exec Chairman, I'm not sure exactly what this means apart from Person Closely Associated with...

btw I did buy a few more on the strength of it :-)

Always encouraging to see a Director buy.

A higher low...and a 'W' shaped bottom combined with growing fundamentals and a strong balance sheet.

With patience and some sort of economic recovery in 2024 (as interest rates peak then perhaps fall a little) we could see a solid uptrend build after a 2 year downtrend..

I can't see any reason why not ?

The hydrogen nifty lift looks a great development, looking forward to seeing them in action on the sites.

Hydrogen seems not to have lifted this, maybe Niftylift is to expensive or suffers from a lack of gas. :-)

any experts on IFRS16 ?

the depreciation cost on land, buildings, other (~£23 million)

& which does not need imo to be 'replaced' by buying roughly an equal amount of hire equipt

is for lease costs or ? (even though called depreciation)

(for hire equipt. generally, you need to buy a new amount of equipment roughly equal to your depreciation cost...so that you are keeping the average age of the hire equipt. roughly stable
....obviously if you did not buy new equipt. your existing hire equipt. would get old & stop working or you would lose your customers due to hiring out old kit)

-----

Speedy has been spending a lot more on buying new hire equipt (£65-70 million/year) in the last 2 years than the depreciation for hire equipt (£30-35 million).
So, the co. can now surely reduce its spend on new hire equipt in the coming 1-3 years, freeing up cash to reduce its debt. ;-)
Capex for 2024 is planned at ~£50 million, a notable fall from the previous 2 yrs).
