01/7/2014 14:51 | Yes cracking video - amazing that they can clean bundled notes! Quite an easy process for the banks by the look of it - easier than loading a domestic dishwasher! 2014 presentation in case anyone not seen | sailing john
01/7/2014 14:39 | Only a few trades so far. But all buys. | someuwin
01/7/2014 12:40 | Certainly looks like a compelling proposition. It wasn't until I watched this video that I truly 'got' it... | someuwin
01/7/2014 12:25 | I'm really not surprised that the two G8 central banks,Bank of Mexico and the Central Bank of The Phillipines are running trials or attending demonstrations. regards | rainmaker
01/7/2014 12:18 | Spectra Systems state that they believe the market for this treatment is worth US1bln and they have also said that the cost of printing new bank notes globally approaches US10bln each year so I logically calculate that Central Banks can save some 90% of their new note printing budget-that's a huge incentive for any country. I'm going to be watching forthcoming RNS with considerable interest.I'm absolutely sure that we're going much, much higher. DYOR, AIMHO regards | rainmaker
01/7/2014 12:12 | No problem, share price You know the decision of a Central Bank to adopt Spectra's Systems soiled bank note treatment should be seen in a much wider context of a socially responsible, ecologically friendly and progressive country. The compelling economics of being able to clean bank notes and return them to circulation for a tenth of the cost of printing new ones are going to save central banks billions of dollars. regards | rainmaker
30/6/2014 15:17 | rainmaker, cheers for that, many thanks...WHI controlling the price both ways then. Odd that they are quoting at 10k, yet can only get a hundred or two online. | sportbilly1976

30/6/2014 14:32 | SCCO2 cleaning at 60°C and 5000 psi was shown to be effective in cleaning conventional straps of 100 banknotes, extracting nearly 4% of the initial strap weight. Measurements of note soiling distributions on a banknote sorting machine running at 10 banknotes per second showed a significant shift in soiling levels after cleaning, supporting the claim that processing of SCCO2-cleaned notes would result in significantly fewer notes being classified as unfit due to soiling and shredded. 30/6/2014 12:10 | Cash burn is about $2.5 million from last year, so they are not going bust any time soon. I think the tipping point to profitability will be this year or next. Things looking good on a 3 year time frame. | stewy_18
30/6/2014 12:02 | I would definitely NOT be a seller at £1 because it's very clear to me that the share price will go much, much higher. regards | rainmaker
30/6/2014 11:58 | Is there any cash burn? The mkt normally ignores the cash even if there is no burn eg,dwha!! If they were 100p today would you sell your holding rainmaker? | patviera
30/6/2014 11:55 | Yes Pat, that's the logical conclusion and the current valuation is still very cheap, at current £/US $ rate of circa 1.70 the Company has net cash of nearly £8mln v a current market cap of some £13. regards | rainmaker
30/6/2014 11:49 | If we have no competition surely we are going to win a lot of contracts? | patviera
30/6/2014 11:45 | Hi Stew, I apologise but I was summarising the situation for anyone new to this share and unfamiliar with the Company and its markets. I think there probably has been a leak but regardless IMHO it's very obvious that they will win large contracts in the coming weeks and months and that by year end the share price will be trading above £1 which is where it was when first floated a few years ago in 2011 and the fundamentals and prospects were no where as strong as they now are. regards | rainmaker
30/6/2014 11:40 | Rainmaker, We are well aware of the fundamentals, and this is why we are invested. What I am trying to work out is why the sudden jump today. Has it been tipped somewhere? Praying for a leak on the note cleaning trials. Best Stuart | stewy_18
30/6/2014 11:39 | Think about it, Spectra Systems (SPSY)are a £13mln market cap company and the sole supplier of a product in a market they reckon to be worth £1bln plus ongoing service revenue. To imagine that they will win contracts for their bank note cleaning technology does not require a great leap of faith since they already have two G2 Central Banks as customers and there are substantial cost savings involved for Central Banks in cleaning soiled bank notes rather than replacing them. AIMHO,DYOR regards | rainmaker
30/6/2014 11:28 | I'm sure where're crazily undervalued and I would be very surprised if we're not trading above £1 by the end of the year but Investors have to do their own research as I have done mine and make up their own minds. AIMHO, DYOR regards | rainmaker
30/6/2014 11:26 | Please everyone read the following very carefully, taken verbatim from Spectra Systems annual report and accounts, recently released "Spectra Systems market opportunity has expanded dramatically with our introduction of the worlds first banknote cleaning system,Aeris. WITH NEARLY 150 BILLION BANKNOTES MANUFACTURED YEARLY AT A COST APPROACHING $10 BILLION ANNUALLY along with the increasing demands that governments reduce costs,we are poised to capitalize on our banknote cleaning technology. AERIS MACHINES HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR GENERATING OVER $1 BILLION OF HARDWARE SALES with ongoing service revenue." "AERIS HAS NO COMPETITION, and once patents are granted, WILL BE OUR MARKET EXCLUSIVELY.The combination of the banknote authentication market, where we are one of several competing companies, along with the Aeris banknote cleaning system, WHERE WILL BE THE SOLE SUPPLIERS,dramatical Please that Spectra System's current market cap is around £13mln and that the CCompany are actively pursuing contract wins for Aeris as they are ongoing trials with two G2 Central Banks, the Mexican Central Bank and there was a demonstration given to Indonesian Central Bank representatives recently-see recent RNSs regards | rainmaker |
