Some fair comments. They only pay an annual dividend though. I agree the balance sheet doesn't look as good as it did. I will hold off buying any until the final results. Only got my Welsh Industrial allocation.

Operating news not bad at all and good to see progress of SAL Germany and the positive noises being made about successful integration.
That having been said balance sheet is pretty ugly; current position stressed-Retail Profile seems to have been very reliant on trade payables- and one wonders what the situation will be after the Christmas build up in trade and of course post acquisition quite a lot of debt and not clear where the cash will come from to pay the vendor loan of £1.53m next October.
Could not see a Going Concern Statement which I thought was mandatory.
Could not see any reference to dividend payments nor can I remember seeing any comments before to the effect that they were putting payments on hold. Would have been better to see something more explicit.

I presume the recent sales are old Welsh Industrial shareholders getting out. It would be very worrying if they were old S&P sahreholders that felt it necessary to exit at such a low price.
If I was a retail Profile shareholder I would be absolutely gutted having lost 33% of my share value two months after selling my company.

Well I'm still watching. This company isn't a dog; they've done very well in a difficult market. Not a compelling buy at this price, but seems to be going lower so will keep watching. I only have a few shares so wish to add more - if the price is right that is!

I agree with 2Manxman, for a privately held business, 12 x profit is excessive, irrespective of synergies. It would be fine for a liquid stock on a PE of 18x, but not this illiquid dog of a stock. I'm sure this deal will transform the business, but not in the way us shareholders hope for....it will distract an already thin-on-the-ground management team, and cause issues. Topvest - why do you think Matthew Bending has a good sales record - the shares are now actually lower than the floatation price!!! I'm waiting for the price to bounce before i get out.

But the two businesses fit very nicely together so there should be synergies. Price was fair in my view. This deal will depend on the cross selling abilities e.g. selling the SpaceandPeople proposition to Retail Profiles customers and vice versa. Looks to me like Matthew Bending has a good sales record. Illiquid it most definitely is though!

Not sure about transformational. The deal at £6m for a £500k profit business is 12 times multiple. Seems a bit overpriced to me. The shareholders have taken huge dilution and all this has done is consolidate even more of the total equity into a small number of hands. Making the stock even more illiquid, as you can see by the drop in price for a small trade.

Received my shares this week. Could result in a bit of weakness here if some of the Welshpool shareholders wish to exit. I plan to hold and add, but will watch for a week or two. The recent acquisition of Retail Profile Holdings looks a "transformational deal" as it doubles their size, provides synergies, an enhanced customer list, a more compelling offer. Seems to give them critical mass.

Update on Welshpool; proposals, if they go ahead, are to receive a dividend en specie of Space & People shares on a 1:1 basis. That will add a few more shareholders here.

On a trailing PE of circa 18 the share price is rather racey even with increased sales and profits during the current year.

Looks like Welshpool Investment Trust will be selling their relatively large stake. See Friday's RNS. It will be interesting to see who buys.

I think the problem is the stock is so illiquid that it does not matter how well they do there does not seem to be any siginificant trading activity....

Thanx for that 2Manx

So, not too bad then

It'll be nice to get a divi after the beating I've taken from the banking fiasco.

All it needs is a 5k buy and the price should get back to the IPO level

40p now, 10p below the offer price. The website look and feel has changed ... seems to be trying to copy the brandspace site (case studies etc). They still have a 'book now for Xmas 2008' news item on the home page although there is one for Jan 5th 09 so it looks like the site is still being updated. Oh for the heady days of 260 per share. Is this a dying dog or just a reflection of the gloom in the retail sector.

I have been doing a bit or research on these people and they released a trading statement in early december 2007, but nothing in December 2008? Their website has not had any recent news posted since September 08? Has anybody picked up any news on these people?
