As regards whether the interims were better or worse than expected, the trading update on June 20th indicated a possible reduction in revenue of 15-20% of 2022 H1 $68.5m. Yesterday's update came in at -14%. It seems that early H2 trading has improved some.

"The expected improvement in H2 2023 trading in the US compared to H1 2023,
supported by the entry of the S-22EZ into full production, contributions from
key international markets and positive feedback from customers, reinforces the
Board's belief that 2023 results will fall in line with market expectations."

Expectations:
revenues of approximately US$ 120.0m, EBITDA of
approximately US$ 36.0m, and year-end cash of approximately US$ 32.0m

Unfortunately somero has never been in a position to forecast earnings, which has kept the shares undervalued.I can't see that changing any time soon

For me there are no figures in the FCAP research for 2024….so that means zero visibility for investors.

Probably part of the price reaction.

Stocko summary: H1 results show profit down 30% on LY, with a sharp slowdown in its main market of USA. Outlook comments reassure though, in line with (lowered) expectations for FY 12/2023. Balance sheet remains bulletproof. I stress test the numbers for a recession, and it should remain profitable. Lots to like medium-long term, but due to shorter term macro uncertainty, I've moderated my view from green to AMBER/GREEN.

Egg don't know how likely an acquisition is, but Somero has been around for some time and no acquisitions talk has ever happened (to my knowledge)

Trading update sounds confident.
It always surprises me the emphasis they put on the Australian market. it's as if they have spun the globe in a management meeting and said "That Australia looks a big place. It must be a big market for our products".
I just hope they don't do a big markeing spend on somewhere like Greenland next!!!

50 day MA is significant for trends here (as for most similar size companies IMO)

The 200 day is also important for long term trends to be broken.

The fib. retrace bounced above the 78% level and the 50% level offers powerful resistance as it roughly co-incides with the 200day MA breach as well as upper trend line which would also need to be breached to indicate a break from the downtrend...IMO

IBPO were over 75pc held by management and so it was easy for them to achieve the votes required for delisting (75pc required - they already had them).This is not the case here. They can't delist without a supporting vote from 75pc of shareholders.
