19/1/2023 19:14 | Not an investor here and, sadly missed it early 2013 but, some market intel for investors that may help. Our colleagues in USA exhibiting one of our products at the big annual World of Concrete show in Nevada. They've done this show for last 7 years now. Somero have a good sized booth there: Spoke with the two guys we have there earlier today and they reported the show has been absolutely packed & they've had the best ever show. Absolutely zero signs of a recession was their comment and demand so strong they've sold the exhibit machines off the booth so don't even have to backhaul across the USA back to Mn. Suggest that bodes well for Somero in the year ahead. Good luck to all investors here. | mattjos

13/1/2023 08:20 | Quite a sharp price reversal here, which suggests we may be getting a positive trading statement shortly. | rcturner2
13/1/2023 08:14 | Good leading indicators coming out of the US this week for Somero. Inflation and material shortages easing, Dodge momentum index goes ever higher, and industrial development under construction 20% up on this time last year. | mr. t
09/1/2023 15:26 | Then hopefully, sit back and enjoy the ride. | eggbaconandbubble

03/1/2023 16:53 | ali47fish - Paul Scott gave it the thumbs up in his latest qualitysmallcaps podcast. | zho
03/1/2023 16:47 | Nice to see a positive share price start to the year. We should get a trading statement in 3 weeks…I wonder what it will say? Putting aside 2022 numbers and market conditions, I hope we hear more about new products and the completed warehouse expansion. Competitor ligchine are promoting an electric laser screed. I’d like to see Somero doing similar - there’s a move towards diesel free construction sites that could drive future sales. If Somero keep their forecast of $47.7m adjusted EBITDA the company will be on a PE of 8 and one of the best dividend yields on the market. However, there are headwinds in 2023 that will make that difficult to maintain... | mr. t
03/1/2023 14:47 | up 10 pc as i write any one knows why? | ali47fish
22/12/2022 16:38 | SOM far too small for JCB to bother with. | loglorry1
22/12/2022 16:26 | I see that JCB are handing out £2500 bonus to all their shop floor workers plus a ten percent pay rise, on a turnover of £4.4bn. up from £3.1 bn. the previous year. I'm always a bit suprised that they don't make a bid for SOM. Strikes me as a good fit and the potential to very rapidly expand SOMs under exploited overseas markets where JCB have a presence and distribution. They must have looked at the possibility sometime before now! With a market cap of circa £200m it would be little more than a round of drinks. | eggbaconandbubble
21/12/2022 10:38 | ref SPSY thread and also relevant here? ref witholding tax Apologies for raising this repetitive issue once again but it vcould have a positive effect for other investors here. I have held SPSY in a few accounts including HSBC investdirect. Despite complaining twice that they were witholding 30% and not 15% they dismissed my complaints with a very long reasoning I am honest enough to admit I did not understand or have the energy to challenge. I moved most of my SPSY to HL who only charge 15% Anyway, I have today received a letter from HSBC admitting they have charged 30% in error (a system error which obv is not totally honest)and a refund of the 15% plus 8% interest, although they have then deducted 20% to forward to INLAND REVENUE. I recall fellow investors here having the same issue with I believe Halifax and others? I hope this is of some use to you in your attempts to claim back any witholding tax. | pj 1
21/12/2022 04:58 | Trading updates in the latter half of January have been issued every year since 2013, according to my records. I would consider that it is safe to assume this will continue as usual going forward. Whilst a loss of 20% is obviously unwelcome, in the context of the wider market that is not so bad, as painful as it is. Current share price have driven the company into a very attractive valuation of EV/EBITDA of 4.4, 9.6% fwd yield and a very very strong balance sheet. If you believe they will do well in their market segment then today's share price is very attractive and given the Directors have minimal shareholdings there is always the small potential of the company being taken over. Meanwhile whilst waiting, just enjoy the income! | carcosa
20/12/2022 15:10 | Lost almost 20% of my initial investment in Somero. Is the trade update expected around end of January? | alotto |
