Usually, but not always, end of day climbs like that are due to leaked news. Seems to have also impacted CGP and so won't be our regional exploration. Any insiders want to share?

LT, the "true value" here must be huge if there's 13 more Alpala's and heaven knows what in the 60 other sites, but first something of considerable value needs to be sold so that a couple of hundred drills can be got turning.

Patience mk. This is an ultrathon, not a sprint. The numerous items impacting our price will start to unwind over the next year and we will be able to more clearly see our true value.

Going past 27 today
. CGP now 6.50

This is looking a bit fishy now ..

Seller moved un and taken it down ... now why would that happen when if they had left it they would have got 26.80 minimum ...Takeover coming ..Seema those at CGP know about it .

Clearly SOLG has shrugged off the technical breach and the Porvenir drilling announcement. My thoughts have now moved over to my expectations from the 3 drilling locations.

There is obviously mineral resource at all 3 locations. The 2 big questions are how much resource and is it economic to extract.

In the case of La Hueca, as an open pit, the extraction costs will have a lower hurdle. The expected mineral content would make it a good mid tier proposition. My guess is that it might have an NPV in the hundreds of millions rather than billions. So, if it drills successfully and gets put towards production, it could add 3 or 4p onto the immediate share price.

Porvenir and Rio Amarillo are both similar to Alpala. They will need more work than La Hueca to prove and have less chance passing the economic hurdle. However, both sites have the potential to be larger and more valuable than Alpala depending on the detailed drill findings. If either site proves larger and more valuable than Alpala, we could see lift-off for SOLG and my guess would be to a minimum of 60p and probably a lot higher.

Do we have anyone brave enough to put a probability of success on Porvenir / Rio Amarillo?

Chris Temple talking about Cornerstone 9:20mins Solgold SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L #cascabel #ecuador

CGP - "potentially a big pay off both obvious and imminent". "you must be invested in Alpala", "love hate relationship between Cornerstone and Solgold", "both companies are cheap compared to the NPV plus the resource will grow in time", "Ecuador is hungry to grow its mining industry...it will become its number 1 industry", "CGP buyout quite possible in near term", "fireworks after the BHP standstill and the call to remove board"

Other interesting fact - It was the first stock listed on the Toronto exchange in the 1990's!!!!

La Hueca has been drilling for over a month so results could come out anytime soon .

As it will be open pitt could be on production before Alpala .

Not the time to be out and miss the annoucement imho

According to Eliza PFS should be at or around the 30th of September so could also be only 2 weeks away .

I've been trying to interpret what to expect from the regional exploration programme. My current expectations are:

La Hueca: First drill results announced mid October with updates each 2 weeks until initial drilling completes around end February.

Porvenir: First drill results announced mid November with updates each 2 weeks until initial drilling completes around end March.

Rio Amarillo: Drilling commenced announcement end December; First drill results announced end February with updates each 2 weeks until initial drilling completes around July.

Other sites: Random announcements on rock saw testing and soil samples at various locations.

The results could be accelerated if more than 1 rig is used at a location. I guess that around half way through announcement of each sites drill results, if we look to have a winner then it will start to be reflected in the share price.

Very much like NMs summary at the end.Have to say that if you invest in an exploration company you have to be patient. I have a decent holding here but only as a hedge against a bid which is certainly a possibility given the magnitude of the proven and potential resource.Otherwise I wouldn't invest until much nearer production.

bc - you seem unable to grasp that every listed share behaves in its own sweet way, dependent on history, stage reached, financing questions, liquidity enough to tempt in new major holders (none in this case), solidity of large holders, other questions still awaited, etc etc etc. If you followed even one share in that detail, you'd know that.

The rns seems a bit of a sop to those wanting drilling news, but alas it just indicates as per usual that this company never gets ahead of the curve. But at least a start has been made.

BTW the issues re. last nights after hours rns doesn't really help here. Smacks of amateur hour and lends weight to the view NM & Co can't cut it when it comes to the actual development.
