Nick Mather speaking at the Northern Miner Conference SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador

Stressed the importance of Solgold and Cascabel for the whole country and their aims to make the country part of the project. "What we can do for Ecuador rather than the other way round". Build an entire copper/gold industry - regarded by merth by some wanting Solg to be like BHP was to Australia with particular focus on what we can do for Ecuador - Cascabel 4% of Ecuador GDP.

"PFS about to be issued in the near future/imminent"- enhanced metallurgy and econpomics across the board, especially with increased copper and gold prices.

Looking to fast track the project, PFS/DFS processes all in parallel.

Multi $B NPV. Need to transition management team and board - upgrading skills and diversity - to augment explorer, developer and miner needs.

Still looking to consolidate project with proposed CGP takeover.

Working closely with Franco-Nevada to close deal. "Not at liberty to state what stage we are at but we are happy with the progress made and are expecting positive outcome in near future".

Regarding the FNV deal. The original 4 months to conclude an agreement express on 11 September. FNV announced with their results that the agreement only needs to take place by January. However, I read somewhere (can't now recall where) that the extra 4 months requires SOLG to issue FNV with warrants. I suspect SOLG won't wish to do that and so we may get an announcement in the next 10 days.

Booming gold and financing firepower add transformational upside to SolGold’s strong and secure business model (SOLG)

01 SEP 2020 | Daniel Flynn

Gold and copper-development company SolGold (LSE & TSX:SOLG) is entering a transformational phase.

There is already a great deal of fundamental value underpinning this Ecuador-focused firm’s £528 million market cap, and this could be about to increase substantially if the company secures its US$150 million royalty financing with Franco Nevada.

The commodity prices used in the PFS will be irrelevant to funding or underlying valuation. However, if commodity prices continue to rise, investors will use higher numbers in their own valuations. Gold looks to be challenging 2000 again at the moment, up to 1990 from 1965 in the last couple of hours.

Copper at 3.06 , could we pass the 3.30
PEA number before we get to the end of this months PFS . Seems possibly , my guess is if we do Solgold may use 4.00 as the benchmark .

Of course buyers will use what they consider fair . But it will make funding easier and will reduce the payback time of the mine ... maybe to 3 years which really is nothing .

Thanks pob.

Don't think it will stop court cases every time there is a new site being drilled. It appears that there is local political capital to taking on central government even though these matters have been clearly identified legally as a central government decision. More an irritation than a serious concern.

You may recall my post on the 4th August concerning the prefect of Azuay and presidential pre-candidate for Pachakutik, Yaku Pérez, who entered for the third time a request for a previous opinion in the Constitutional Court (CC), to promote a popular consultation on mining issues in that province. Well it seems that it failed, so worth noting for SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador

On August 28, 2020, the Constitutional Court notified the decision that decided to deny and archive the request for a new popular consultation on mining matters presented at the beginning of the month.

Interesting to see Greg Chamandy (Chair Cornerstone) on twitter earlier (8 tweets since 2015!)

...“BHP CEO downplays M&A in favor of early-stage exploration partnerships”
Interesting article. BHP is one of @Cornerstone_CGP’s fellow shareholders in SolGold

The relationship between Solgold and Cornerstone SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador is detailed in the signed and dated 24/2/14 Termsheet available through SEDAR (noting Solgold confirmed the 85% ownership on the 25/2/14).

A number of sections could make interesting reading which may or may not be of relevence - I am not an expert and I apologise if I am getting the wrong end of the stick as I have an ownership in both companies - such as Section 3.6 b,5 (optional subscription...the SOLG subscription to get to 85%) and Section 7.2 (transfer of interests).

Focusing in specifically on Section 9.5 which details the "Relationship of the Parties"

(a) Nothing in or arising out of this agreement will constitute or be deemed to constitute a joint venture between the parties for any purpose, subject to the Transction Documents and the Earn-in Agreement.
(b) This Agreement does not constitute an association, corporation or partnership between the parties, or constitute one party as the agent of any other party.

Cornerstone in its external communication and MD&A documents refer to the "Cascabel Joint Venture with SolGold".

On the other hand, Solgold in its offer Q&A reference "Cornerstone has limited rights as a shareholder of ENSA in relation to the Alpala Project. An agreement between shareholders exists, but no joint venture exists and SolGold owes no fiduciary obligations to Cornerstone." Solgold stopped mentioning Cascabel "joint venture" in news releases between 2 and 20 Feb 2015.

As reported on Moneyweek this week...Copper continued its rise – China recently said it would be building a load more infrastructure including new railways, power lines and electric car charging points.

Well, perhaps if they were a bit more fastidious about keeping an armada of illegal rubber boat people out of our paddock, we might make the mistake of thinking we could trust them, but we know we can't trust them to do anything other than take advantage of us. Which of course we have been letting them get away with for decades.

Not withstanding the WA, what I say is true, Barnier refuses to negotiate anything until he has first got what he wants. Hopefully even Boris can't be so stupid as not to realsie that the UK can't flourish unless it is a completely free agent, a soveriegn state, and not the vassal state that Barnier and chums intend.
