05/5/2020 16:01 | The movements over the last 2 days have me perplexed. I saw no reason for yesterday's fall. Assuming there was some reason behind it, there should have been no reason for today's increase. Still, back to where we started.... | lowtrawler
05/5/2020 15:54 | Less than 100k on the Ats to take it to 29 | mknight
05/5/2020 15:46 | We all have times when we get it right and others that go very wrong . I know we are up alot today but i am struggling to see where it will end up today . Ok now we are back on track ..couldnot understand why its went back after a nice buy ... ok 27p how much higher | mknight
05/5/2020 15:45 | Cairncross's Economics was my Economics textbook at A Level 55 years ago... I found Benham much easier and Hanson impenetrable... | rougepierre
05/5/2020 15:40 | Mk, there are shares where I am confident how they will move intraday. SOLG is not one of them. My original investment in SOLG intended to swing trade but I was so bad at trading the short term movements, I gave up. | lowtrawler
05/5/2020 15:33 | Lowtrawler Looks possible we could finish 28/29p If those are out want to be in overnight . 110k at 28.85 got to go higher imho | mknight
05/5/2020 15:20 | MkI would refer to you as a high conviction investor. You seem to have a very small portfolio and invest all available funds expecting your conviction to pay off with a much higher price later. I admire your approach but also consider it to be very high risk. Even the best researched companies can fail. However, when your conviction pays off, you will make a massive return. Personally, I don't have the guts to do what you do and so you deserve the rewards when they come. | lowtrawler
05/5/2020 14:05 | DD not so easy .. example . Share price 50p but just had good drilling results from Río Amarillo ..or are you saying you are already out at 40p .. now its moved to 60p Never easy. | mknight
05/5/2020 13:56 | M Fish was the same . And we have never forgot him . Nasty storm but dont worry its going to miss us and land somewhere in the middle of France . Ooops | mknight
05/5/2020 13:28 | DD You are probably old enough to remember Alec Cairncross a government adviser. Re forecasting he always said that a pessimistic forecast was always the better bet as if it came through successfully one`s reputation was enhanced whereas if it failed people were so delighted that they forgot all about your cautious approach. | arcadian
05/5/2020 13:12 | tosh - Nah ! Hardly ever bin there. (in a former life maybe) Had some grief from an ex from there though ! mckn - My opinion re value (and whether to B H or S) obviously changes with time - as your's should ! | dozyduck
05/5/2020 12:16 | Very tight real spread...24.96 Bid...25.2 offered in at least 50,000...just did dummy trades... Cheers | rougepierre
05/5/2020 11:33 | Moving up nicely today if we could get to near 30p today with news tomorrow we might not be far off 40p by close tomorrow . Would only take an equity raise at 40p to go alongside the 150m . There is 300k on at 25.50 but i think that will be taken out in the next hour or so . Its about the time when those that sold are thinking should i get back in ..which may help the price to move up . | mknight
05/5/2020 11:21 | DD, do i assume that you are based in Wales ? | tosh123

05/5/2020 10:27 | Small snippet mentioning SOLG as a Mining Giant. “ On the back of Lundin’s success, Ecuador has become one of the most sought after exploration jurisdictions for gold and base metals exploration. The South American country is home to mining giants BHP, SolGold, Fortescue Metals Group and Newcrest Mining.” hxxps://www.australi | phattrader1
05/5/2020 10:22 | Ps. Skills in one area does not necessarily make you a good Investor. Requires many skills and qualities. End of sermon. | greenelf
05/5/2020 10:20 | My two pennyworth on valuation. For me, context is important in any discussion of future value. I'm biased but the best summary of what the global gold industry faces is in the first few slides/charts of Barrick's PDAC presentation. Gold reserves of major gold companies have declined by 26% since 2012 and are now lower than 2007 levels. The "industry is facing a production precipice..". Major "tier 1" discoveries have tailed off. The context of the 2020s, namely scarcity, is completely different from the 1990s when I started monthly contributions to what is now known as the Blackrock Gold and General fund. We also have money printing on a scale that is completely barking. Nor is Solgold's 100 million oz of silver to be sniffed at.And of course there is the copper too, likely to be in a concentrate very attractive to smelters. So my valuation glass is half full! | pecker1 |
