14/12/2019 16:00 | Slightly surprised to see the company being tipped as a buy on the UK's shareprofits site (subscription only). They are much better at identifying shorts and frauds but positive whatever (noting they were bearish - "one to avoid" in 2016 during the 2p era!). Solgold $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador "...SolGold has the potential to become a very large copper producer - buy for the long term from these levels" It's a thorough article but if you follow the news-flow as posted here, there is nothing unexpected. | ![]() pob69

13/12/2019 13:24 | Good luck mknight. Had I had the sense to sell at 40p when that court case brought all those doubts into focus, then I would have bought back, probably when BHP came in at 22.15p There are some big holders of this company, they seem intent on seeing it through to production, and the whole thing does look too big to ignore. | ![]() lefrene

13/12/2019 11:54 | Should be 2.5% of $500 billion in my view! But 2.5% or 3% of Alpala would do for starters. Perhaps that $22.5m recently raised was enough to get us to BFS, which if BHP also use their staff might get done a few weeks quicker. I would expect them to have begun talking to Bankers over a year ago, so once the BFS is in place I would hope funds would be available within a few weeks. The picture should then look very different, and if metal prices are moving up by then, then Solg will be on the path to becoming a solid income stock and a hedge against fiat currency inflation. | ![]() lefrene

11/12/2019 18:42 | GoodGrief, I sincerely hope that they do manage to get electric cars to do 600 miles before recharges, just so long as it's 600 miles at 70mph with the lights, wipers and heater working flat out, and it can be recharged in 30 minutes! Perhaps a tall order, but currently my daily hack is a small diesel, it never does less than 65mpg with lights, heater and wipers going and a tank easily gets it 400 miles without worry, and it was a very cheap thing to buy. (it recently did 750 miles in a day with one stop for fuel that took 5 minutes) I don't doubt that once established, electric cars will evolve as economies of scale bring down costs, and real world usage shows who can get it right, and who is putting lipstick on their product. Perhaps the best place to start is with service and delivery vans in cities? Mr Amazon and Royal Mail could lead the way with innovation, but they won't unless forced to, also of course there are all those council vehicles most of which seem to be diesel, I don't see any of them leading the way, but of course it's too costly and fraught with running out of amps which means the job won't get done. | ![]() lefrene
11/12/2019 18:17 | Copper is now $2.79 and seems to be rising gently. China a lrge cooper consumer is leading the way on EV and recent announcements have been made by BMC and Tesla. | ![]() arcadian
11/12/2019 15:55 | I think that EV's are going to explode onto the market from 2025 when the Alpala mine is due to come into operation. Every 1mln Electric Vehicles require 40,000 tons more Copper then combustion engine driven vehicles. | ![]() loganair
11/12/2019 15:17 | Very Interesting Pob69 - thanks. I see copper prices improving today, not that is affects SOLG price, but I see China is gobbling up the concentrates available, and has lowest copper stockpiles since 2013, so maybe the demand/supply issue is beginning to move the market (China is half of the world copper market). I see Fitch is downbeat about copper in 2020, but upbeat for 2021 to 2023 - but a lot depends on their predictions for falling demand in China - and growth in demand in India. | ![]() noccer
11/12/2019 14:34 | When an explorer share price declines and I start to doubt my investment thesis, I always check out where the company is within the life-cycle of a mineral discovery chart typically as detailed on this excellent page - the Lassonde Curve. Solgold $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador shows a similar pattern as to any other explorer at a similar stage within the "Orphan" stage. | ![]() pob69
