26/11/2019 15:12 | The fact that BHP were happy to pony up another $22 million is very positive, this is not going to be left to wither on the vine, but the vultures are likely sitting none too far away watching with interest. It must be as frustrating for NM as the rest of us, although of course he is drawing a nice salary while he waits for CGP and those drill permits. Just what is the matter with the government when it wants miners but won't issue permits for drilling? | ![]() lefrene
26/11/2019 15:12 | Loganair. I think they believe it would be quicker to get Blanca y Nieve into production rather than ALPALA . Probably alot cheaper as well . | ![]() mknight
26/11/2019 15:07 | I think what Solgold needs to do now is to stop proving up their other 12 sites, concentrate on Alpala, getting the mine into operation to provide a revenue stream. | ![]() loganair
26/11/2019 15:03 | Thanks Noccer. Its a nice problem to have but they have another 12 priority sites . We really need to JV with one of the big boys so we can Carry on doing what Solgold do best which is proving up these 12 sites adding value . | ![]() mknight
26/11/2019 14:42 | MKnight - I think as regards defining the Alpala resource you are right, though it will bug them if there is anything with significant grades that still appears 'open' i.e. they haven't yet found the edge. From what I have read they are drilling for the decline and processing area, etc, and keep finding more minerals when what they want to find is sound non-mineralised rock. I wonder if the work on Aguinaga and planned work on Trevino means they are looking to maximise the value of the ENSA ore bodies, whereas you might think Alpala is big enough, so why not drill some of the other potential Tier 1 targets and maximise the SOLG value. So I still think they may be hoping for a deal on ENSA. Of course permits, etc could be the reason. | ![]() noccer
26/11/2019 14:03 | Not sure they need to pump more money into ALPALA once Mre3 is out .just how much more do they need to prove up its more paperwork now rather than drilling Please correct me if i am wrong . Blanca y Nieve Would be where the drilling needs to be proven imho . | ![]() mknight
26/11/2019 13:27 | 80% of Solgolds expenditure has been going on exploration which they say they have cut right back to make what money they do have last longer. | ![]() loganair
26/11/2019 13:11 | I suppose that 600 people cost about $1 million a month, but a lot of money has gone out recently presumably on drilling equipment for those 12 priority sites? Plus there's a small scale pilot processing plant being put together presumably for Aguinaga or Blanca y Nieve? So perhaps expenditure will slow down for a while? Certainly it feels that we are overdue some good news with permits and MR3, time will pass eventually something will happen. | ![]() lefrene
26/11/2019 12:24 | Lefrene I Would think that they believe the shareprice will be alot higher in April. There is plenty of news to come in the short term . They may be close to recieving funding elsewhere . | ![]() mknight
26/11/2019 11:22 | With the money Solgold already had in the bank and the money raised from BHP will most probably last them until April next year at the most. | ![]() loganair
26/11/2019 11:18 | The oddity is why raise so little? That money would seem unlikely to last more than 12 months, so what do they expect to happen over the next 12 months? I can see why BHP and Newcrest would like to see a BFS completed because using someone else's capital to construct a mine is more attractive than using up your own war chest. | ![]() lefrene
26/11/2019 09:51 | Bhp is hAppy to pick up shares and have options at 37p, makes current share price bargain, I'm just adding whenever I can | ![]() ntbb
26/11/2019 09:40 | I think we will see offer sooner then later "However it said BHP has a right to acquire up to 246.6 million SolGold shares--not counting shares acquired by way of certain permitted acquisitions--and it also has a right to make an offer for SolGold provided it has first been approved by the company's shareholders." | ![]() ntbb
26/11/2019 08:56 | One investment by BHP might be regarded as dilettante but two is a definite sign of serious involvement and a signal to the mining world not least because it is a vote of confidence in Ecuador`s future. I agree that for serious investors this is an excellent buying opportunity and that includes me. | ![]() arcadian

26/11/2019 02:26 | Yes they can. Re-read! | ![]() andysand
25/11/2019 23:03 | Looks like they are drilling Aguinaga - in the RNS it says "The Cascabel drill program is currently focussed on extending and upgrading the status of the Alpala Resource, as well as further drill testing of the rapidly evolving Aguinaga prospect." Aguinaga - rapidly evolving? I thought that had been parked. | ![]() noccer

25/11/2019 21:32 | I`m torn between two ideas to explain our situation. 1 That the Ecuadorian government would prefer the big boys to take over with their capital investment and long term commitment to mining profits and govt revenue. 2 That the big boys are happy to see Solg pathe the way given its good relationships with the government, the locals and the environment. We still need those permits. | ![]() arcadian
25/11/2019 18:25 | I doubt BHP will wish to sell their stake in Solgold as they need the Copper for their own needs. BHP have the fire power to put all of Solgolds mines into operation. | ![]() loganair
25/11/2019 16:34 | In October, the shares fell to a three-year low amid growing concerns about SolGold’s funding as it burnt through cash. Its cash position was just $16.5m at the end of September and the company has since slowed spending to make that cash stretch until February, Liberum Capital Markets said. The involvement of BHP technical staff into the project may prompt Newcrest into making an offer for the business, analysts at London-based share price Angel said in a note to clients. | ![]() loganair
25/11/2019 15:59 | if solg is that cheep why dont bhp just do a buy out? | ![]() jammytass |
