I've bought back in up to my previous level in expectation we'll get a bounce from licenses and funding announcements. Just got to keep my fingers crossed that they come soon.

Regarding China this is my post from yesterday;

Maybe of longer term geopolitical interest from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs who met Ecuadorian Foreign Minister at start of month. Solgold $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador.

Wang Yi and Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Valencia co-chaired the diplomatic and political consultations between the two countries...

"...The two sides should consolidate political mutual trust, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year, and push the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Ecuador to a new level..."

pob69 - Because of the need for Copper in electric vehicles etc, is why BHP paid a premium for their 10% stake in Solgold

It Would be nice to see before Christmas

1. Permits

2. Funding

3. MRE3

I Would imagine even if we get a fantástic MRE3 the price will stay the same if we dont get funding or Permit news .

If i had a choice of 2 of the 3 i Would take funding and Permits .

For sure Twigger could play a big part in the funding if he can convince the Chinese (Zhaojin) that a partnership / mine aquisition from Solgold is a low political risk.

The problem I see is that Chinese are not loved by the Ecuadorean government after the 'national scandal' of the sub standard Coca Coda Dam.

“China took advantage of Ecuador,” said Ecuador’s energy minister, Carlos Pérez. “The strategy of China is clear. They take economic control of countries.”

But given that Zhaojin is already invested in Ecuador and are again actively consulting with PCF Capital (Twigger) then surely there has to be some interest.

Could Solgold sell / partner the Cisne-Loja or Alpala concessions ?

Initial investment in 2007 so long-term holder with major purchases in 2016 and beyond (with a few smaller sales).

The need for global electrification is out there (which I leave to others to share) and unless that turns negative, then the picture for tier 1 copper resources remain positive.

As is the case for all companies, it is all about the management (exec and non-exec). We all have our own opinions on how its measured. I am comfortable after meeting them and others including the PEA consultants, but if not then I am out.

As a non-Spanish speaker, the risks with Ecuador remains (and not easy to research) but what history tells us is that societies wants to grow and make life better for future generations. If Ecuador suggests otherwise then I am out.

I am not qualified to crystal ball how things will unfold (far too much short-term bluster which blights all BBs) so I offer my research but leave it for others to interpret for their own ends (long/short/investment/trade).

Thanks for comments. Of course any investment is DYOR but it is good to share without advice being offered!

I read the LSE board but don't post (as I have so many on filter).

The following link shows Cornerstone shareholders on the left of the page...

hxxps://www.marketscreener.com/CORNERSTONE-CAPITAL-RESOU-34204829/company/

I'm pretty sure Rio aren't invested there.

Don't be confused by the table on the right which simply shows a list of other companies in the mining sector. The 16.43% next to Rio is how much the Rio share price has gone up since 1st Jan - it has nothing to do with CGP.

Hi mknight I've noticed that you seem to be under the impression that Rio own part of Cornerstone but I don't believe that to be the case. Where do you get that idea from?

All the tiny AT trades of 14 or 15 shares, what the heck is that? Plainly no dealing charge involved and presumably a computer programme, so who does this benefit?

Thank you pob69, those comments are tailor made for Solg. I would like to think that it's a hint of a joint deal being considered. Solg by now must be known to the whole industry, and the increasing finds and reducing risk considered an attractive feature. All we need know is a deal between China and Trump to boost confidence and thus the price of copper.

What if Rio was interested? Some of the boxes potentially ticked for Solgold $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador.

Lynn Olssen, a General Manager at Rio Tinto's exploration department ats IMARC.

"Copper is our prefererence. A bit like BHP we'd love a tier one ... large and low low cost. If you could do it, could it be shallow please and near the coast, with some good infrastructure would be ideal."
