Have a look at the edison pdf a tthe top of the search. Gives their reasoning for calculating price versus NPV of projects.

My stab in the dark will be once I see the PEA.

OneDayRodders, I shall have to wait until all the information is out, but it does rather look as if my previous fantastical numbers will be x 10! The pocket calculator will melt under the strain :¬)

Will one of the heavies make a bid before all the news comes out? NM has lined up a few of his ducks, but who is going to be first to bring the orange sauce to the barbie?

Alas I have no spare cash or I would be bulking up right now.

Next week should be interesting, but knowing SOLG, possibly not! A lot of corporate chess going on, lots of moving pieces and all we really know is that the resource is world class

I was thinking more of an offer coming in after PEA and cornerstone is sorted.

Not that simple. Look at SXX and its npv. Different scenarios have it valued at 7bn. Look at market cap of company and it's got finance to build already sorted

If we said Cascabel was worth only 3 billion. Thats 4 times the current share price
1.60 ...

5 billion and we are 6.5 times or 2.60

Just goes to ahow how cheap the share price currently is .

Forget your charts breaking through 40p significant.
Wouldn't want to be out of SOLG.
GLA and keep the faith.
Don't you think NM is playing with us.

Thanks guys - after a lot of research, pleased to now hold a decent portfolio position.

Dmitri - wonderful place in winter - we travel there regularly to hike and off road bike above the tree line in Mount Teide National Park.

Marth126 - timing may look prescient but as Warren Buffet famously remarked; "The market timer's hall of fame has got no one in it!"

North American Natural Resource analyst Joshua Hall who posts on Seeking Alpha has carried out a highly detailed study of the World's Copper Juniors/small caps to identify those with assets he considers of sufficient scale/potential likely to attract the interest of cash rich majors looking to rebuild their pipeline of production development assets during the recovery stage of this new copper market cycle.

Of the 15 companies world wide to make his list(out of hundreds researched), two were London Listed - Solgold and Asia Met. The reason Joshua carried out the study was because he identified that most of the juniors/small caps with large scale reserves/resources during the recovery/boom stage of the previous copper market cycle (2000-2008) were taken out at significant premiums by majors/mid caps BEFORE they were able to develop the assets through to first production.

One of very few exceptions was Aussie junior Oxiana Metals that was taken from a $3m micro cap to a $6bn market cap heavyweight between 2000 and 2007 - for those that may not know: the former Oxiana Metals management selected Asia Met as their vehicle for the recovery stage of this new copper market cycle.

I expect more of the same next week. I.e. more regional updates to start with. Clearly a strategy in play here releasing daily RNS. Just anyone's guess what that is.

Hopefully when the PEA arrives it will make a template for developing the other sites, thus saving time and cost in the future. If we are seeing a set piece by NM as he rolls out the news from these sites, then one might expect the piece-de-resistance to be the PEA. But plainly we cannot know for certain when it will arrive.

I don't think my calculator is big enough to tot up all the possible mining value from all of the sites being explored just now. But I get the impression that if any outfit bought up Solg for $5 billion they would have got a steal.

Why? My homework is done .

As Dimetri said when this is 400 everybody will say why did i not buy more.

Confirmation yes , as you said before when it is in black and white then true value will reveal itself.

I doubt the numbers are going to be that much of a surprise. We know the resource adn rough estimates have been in the public domain for a while now regarding developing a mine in that area. It will simply be confirmation that should derisk. It isnt like we have suddenly found an extra game changing discovery. A bit of realisim may be needed for short term price targets.

mknight, I have been very patient with this one because of the sheer scale of the thing, but also because of the skills of NM. It's a chess game in slow motion as the big sharks circle one another. Way back when the price was then circa 40p NM mentioned 10 to 20 times the then value. Ten times would do nicely, 20 times would do very nicely indeed!

If the news comes through it will be a feeding FRENZY with GREAT WHITE SHARKS trying to get their share but what if SOLG isn't a shoal of tuna but a pod of KILLER WHALES??? Whales eat sharks!!! OMG, this could be a MEGALODON hiding in plain sight!!! Expect £3 the moment the BASS KICKS

Buying in anticipation of BIG news. If it lands and is good then BOOM!

If not we'll just have to hang on a bit longer. With all the copper and gold in the ground that we know of and the potential from the other sites which could be mind-blowing this has to blow sometime. C'mon SOLG.

It will take many multiples of 45p to buy this . We could be double this price by the end of next week depending
On how good PEA is

mknight

First stepping stone has to be 45p which the big hitters paid, I guess they might have a vested interest in trying to keep the price from exceeding that level if any of them plan a low ball bid?
