dmitri - Oh, I see. I didn't mean to patronise with my response. I know you've been on the boards a while and thought it strange you didn't know the difference between the two - my mistake, sorry..M

Ah sorry misread the L2 part assumed a trade just showed up late - skimreading on the train.

You can’t legally puff the order book like that, people have been prosecuted for it, it’s just difficult to prove if done sporadically.

The party maybe slowing but it will not crash while interest rates remain so low. Where will you get a better return for your money .

For me lefrene .. as I mentioned yesterday it's nothing to do with the excuses they keep labeling each downturn on.

The market is selling off after years of zero / low int rates, company buy backs, and FED printed QE

ODR, I believe it's because most trade is driven by algorithms, that simply feed off each other with no regard to any underlying value of whatever is being traded. So once something kicks off it just starts a blind cascade, a self induced vortex. But there could be something in what you say as insiders can just pick up the phone and deal directly, but there always has to be two sides to make a trade. I suppose if there are large futures trades to square then it gives those players time to act?

All this because a CFO who 'happens' to be the daughter of the chairman of the biggest Chinese electronics company gets arrested for dealing with Iran. What are the odds that they are going to let her go today?

Multi year bear market anyone ?

"When futures reopened Thursday, the drop was so severe on S&P 500 futures that the Chicago Mercantile Exchange triggered circuit breakers to avoid worse losses. Those futures spiked down to 2,659, a drop of 1.9% before the CME stopped trading briefly to try to calm the market, said Chris Weston, head of research at Pepperstone."

These circuit breakers must be to give the gravy train gang enough time to get out before the ignorant masses.

Let’s be fair though Mira there are many over there who support you.

You said nothing offensive at all.

Mira

Agree - only 2k sold before it went bit the 100k's are still there and not sure if they are connected or not. Anyway, could mean a gentle rise in SP? Positive feel to SOLG at the moment. Sympathy on LSE stuff - I stopped reading after the first few posts as it was getting ridiculous. Sometimes anonymity creates that sort of nonsense.
