Blanca y Nieve is the one i am waiting for . NM and team know what they have there at it must be out of this world for him to say with confidence that this will finance Alpala . Exciting times ahead ,they have already put security on guard which says it all.
The market is going to get a massive surprise when they start drilling .

Large-scale legal mining, an alternative

By the year 2021, the Cascabel mine will be built. Estimates put the reserves at 23 million ounces of gold and 10 million tons of copper. With these volumes, we are talking about the country's largest gold and copper reserves.

Since 2013, a company with Australian and North American capitals called Ensa is in exploration and drilling. At this moment the project is in advanced exploration stage. Then the preliminary economic evaluation will come, later the resource expansion, the pre-feasibility and the configuration of a financing package. These phases will be followed by fiscal negotiation, permits and final feasibility and regional exploration. For now, 95 wells totaling 170,000 meters have been drilled.

The country requires the generation of wealth and this possibility must be exploited, since other large mining projects have been stopped for various reasons such as lawsuits before the Constitutional Court and aspects of environmental permits. In this and other projects with millionaire investments it is essential that all the rules of respect for nature are met, with the least possible impacts and of course without harming the communities that might be affected. Moreover, the demand for labor must preferentially serve the residents of the area where they operate. In any case, it is a bet on a good alternative.

The other side of the coin is clandestine mining, which moves millions of dollars almost incalculable in machinery (there are areas where dozens of crushers operate) amid precarious working and health conditions. An example is Buenos Aires, in the same province. This type of mining, which also evades taxes, is pernicious for environmental care, disrespects nature, pollutes rivers, wastes metals by its archaic methods of extraction and does not suit the country.

Ecuador must travel in mining on the right path.

The NGO Rainforest Action Group have a new newsletter out and there is some interesting material in there. There is some specific mentions of $SOLG.L Solgold $SOLG $CGP #ECUADOR (though they haven't updated the SOLG specific information sheet from the winter of 2018).

New mining concessions in Ecuador are going up for sale on January 2nd, 2019. (Source not quoted?)

In reference to recent CONCERNS ABOUT THE COLOMBIA - ECUADOR BORDER.... "Solgold’s Cascabel project lies about 30km south of the border (only 10km from the Do Not Travel Zone) and much of the route required to transport copper from Cascabel to San Lorenzo is in the dangerous zone...."

"Brisbane-based SolGold has positioned itself as the leading Australian investor in mining exploration, with over 300,000 ha in concessions, 64% of all concessions held by Australian companies, and 18% of all mining concessions sold in Ecuador (as of January 2018).

SolGold's Cascabel mine in the Imbabura province of northwest Ecuador is estimated to contain an 'indicated' 8.4 million tonnes of copper metal and 19.4 million ounces of gold, with the mine mooted to be as big as Escondida in Chile. Concessions held by Hanrine Resources (owned by Gina Rinehart) and Newcrest encircle Cascabel to the south and west, with those companies hoping position will help make a play for dominance of the company.

BHP doubled its stakes in SolGold in October, now owning a 11.2% stake, while Newcrest Mining holds 14.5%, making these two companies both major shareholders in SolGold."

These are all questions one has to ask themselves before they pull the trigger. For me with the backdrop of a bearish looking US mkt, that’s a risk i’m willing to take.

Still it might fall to 35 then you could get them back at the price you sold

Fair enough, i would call up 0.41% on an individual stock a rounding error, but down 3% in wider US mkts significant. Each to their own though; we’ll see in due course.

Either way, whomsoever is proved to be right (totally going to be me btw ;-) ) let’s agree to keep it civil eh?

Guys, let’s keep it civil, no fingers pointed either way.

Wrt individual stocks being not valued what they’re worth, there were high quality companies trading at discount to net cash positions back in the crisis. That can and probably will happen again.

Wall st closing the week at an 8 month low doesn’t make me feel unhappy to have the vast majority of my powder dry.

We may differ in opinions, but it doesn’t mean we can’t get on. For the record, i think SOLG is one of the best opportunities i’ve ever seen, i just hate the wider mkt atm.

What we have today is worth alot more than the share price today .

I think what will catapult the shares will be reciept of the permits and then another major find . The 11 projects are currently valued at zero .

Can you imagine the frustration NM and his team must be going through at this moment . I am sure most of the rigs will be moving out of Alpala as soon as the permits arrive .
