03/10/2018 09:47 | Greetings from southern Spain! Isn’t the share price just hitting options selling? My take is that will be the case for next three weeks. | ![]() jerryspaniel
03/10/2018 09:43 | To be fair MF, it hss gone from 20p to high thirties in a very short period of time. I agree it has a long way to go, but some will have made profits on that rise and may be taking them. | ![]() mikalan
03/10/2018 09:40 | Nothing is moving share price North at the moment. Very strange. No idea why. Disheartening for LTH's. We know price should be far higher. Am I paranoid that forces are holding price back? | ![]() mam fach
03/10/2018 09:29 | NM delivering on his +100% Upgrade to the MRE should make for good reading and the share price. | ![]() goldrush
03/10/2018 08:27 | Thanks pob69 - good find. Let's hope the MRE update in Dec is +100% which should push up the TP. | ![]() zeusfurla

03/10/2018 08:04 | It's a shame that broker notes are not easily available to private investors, especially after MFID, but Liberum and others have made their research available via a subscription site Research Tree, which is highly recommended for any serious private investor. | ![]() pob69
03/10/2018 07:59 | That's a brilliant find pob69. I've just posted it on LSE. Appreciated and thanks | ![]() mirabeau
03/10/2018 07:59 | New article behind paywall BHP and Newcrest in #Ecuador shootout BHP is not the type to spend US$36 million acquiring a 6.1% stake in a copper-gold explorer and then sit pat, writes Barry FitzGerald. 'And having earlier assembled a 14.54% stake in the same company at a cost of $63 million, Newcrest isn't the type to sit pat either. The explorer in question is the Brisbane-based and London and Toronto-listed $SOLG SolGold, led by industry stalwart Nick Mather. Expectations are that SolGold will soon become a takeover target for BHP or Newcrest, or perhaps on a joint basis. It is an usual situation. Rarely are major Australian miners at 10 paces over the same prey.' | ![]() pob69
03/10/2018 07:55 | Excellent news which should provide an immediate uptick. UK broker (and Joint broker to $SOLG #ecuador) Liberum has just initiated coverage with a 49 page broker note "Benchmarking Alpala" with a cover of a shoal of sharks circulating (sadly not Solly the monster dinasaur, but just as appropraite). SUMMMARY ...SolGold’s Alpala discovery in Ecuador is emerging as one of the largest and highest grade greenfield copper discoveries in the world. ...With Newcrest and now BHP on the register, SolGold should be valued by its utility to an acquirer. ...we derive an $1.5bn valuation and initiate with a target price of 69p ...Upside could stem from a larger than modelled increase in the December 2018 MRE (we model +50%), a larger overall resource number and/or confirmation of further discoveries at one of SolGold’s porphyry or gold targets, which will likely be tested in 2019. | ![]() pob69
03/10/2018 07:15 | If the copper price went up by 35% from here....the share price would be at least 10 times % wise higher....350% = £1.30....add in takeover premium of 40% and we are at a share price of £2.....I can live with that !!.....and that’s before taking into account the increased reserves that will follow through....IMHO | ![]() goldrush
02/10/2018 20:52 | Both copper and gold have been subdued for sometime until recently, copper is forcast to become increasingly pressured as demand increases over the next few years. Very likely that copper rises by 35 percent in the next 2 years! thus Making any bids for solg more expensive as time goes by. So I aint selling mine for some time yet. | ![]() wisteria2
02/10/2018 17:19 | This is looking like it might roll over IMO. Nothing goes up in a straight line so possibly not a bad thing as long as it doesn’t sink too far? Gold and copper both up today which can’t hurt. It’s anyone’s guess when BHP might decide to make their next move and certainly isn’t nailed on that it will be imminently? We need news to keep the market excited here. Obviously further interest from a major would do the trick. Let’s hope the next resource update is a buster. All IMO. | ![]() alwaysevolving
02/10/2018 15:00 | Luckily the good ship Solg has a salty old skipper in the form of Nick Mather, long accustomed to the skulduggery of the mining industry. I like the term "multi generational" as a description of Cascabel, capital sunk into equipment is going to be harvesting returns for a very long time, this aspect of the project must have aroused the interest of more than just BHP. | ![]() lefrene
02/10/2018 13:03 | I'm sure BHP will find a way to secure ownership of this fresh supply of stock from options exercises BHp wants direct ownership and direct operator status at Cascabel and it'll get it by hook or by crook though they know they're dealing with astute and experienced operator in Mather. | ![]() mirabeau
02/10/2018 12:54 | lefrene, You may be right though I hope that the huge potential of Solg will encourage many holders to sell just enough shares to give them a free carry on the rest. A ripple to the total number of shares but, as you suggest, could be substantial supply from now to 29 October. Hence my hope for some great RNSs - expect them any day now. | pecker1
02/10/2018 12:23 | Those maturing options might damp things down a bit since many of the employees will want to cash out a profit. Workers are always in need of more actual money, but against the scale of the current flotation level I suppose it's barely a ripple. | ![]() lefrene
02/10/2018 10:55 | Nick Mather is doing an excellent job in talking up the value of Solgold. The 22M share options issued to employees and contractors in 2016 with a strike price of 28p expire on 28 October. The options only came into the money a few weeks ago.So I'm expecting a stonker of an RNS, or perhaps two, to help them on their way. | pecker1

01/10/2018 16:07 | Solg sits on the kind of assets previously only known to Victorian robber barons, and more lately Russian oligarchs. Shareholders have to trust that NM will play his cards to the best advantage of all holders. I'm guessing that any predatory pounce will come once it becomes apparent that there is a real prospect of Banks putting up money to enable NM to go to production. One presumes NM is talking to the Banks who very likely will want all the numbers in before they will commit to anything. In the meantime the picture gets more positive by the day, all one has to do is wait. | ![]() lefrene
01/10/2018 16:07 | It's obvious. He knows something we don't. He'll have to tell us soon ! | ![]() mam fach
01/10/2018 15:46 | I'm so intrigued and excited about NM's sudden ultra confident demeanor | ![]() onedayrodders
