Solid day but couldn't hold its high, profit taking is healthy so maybe due a down day tomorrow, all good.

Just as I expect to be mocked for holding and refusing to sell any despite being over 50% in profit and actually averaging "Up" by buying more as and when finances become available...


On a more serious note:
A few years back there was an octopus who correctly predicted world cup match results.. :-)


Some would say law of averages means sometimes guesses will prove to be correct.
I am waiting for a chartist to provide a clear cut "This will go up to this price, and a date" or a "It will go down to this price and a date", instead of the wishy washy... "If this happens it could go up, or if this happens it could go down, then whichever way it actually goes they proclaim.. "See::: I was right".. :-)

I saw a post mentioning profit taking..

Isnt it fantastic we all have differing motives, plans and ideas on how markets work..
I mock chartists, but try to do it in humour, just as I mock those that believe and dedicate their lives to following a god.. (Yet these same people mock those that left offerings to forest gods and prayed to weather gods)

In exactly the same way I find I also mock those who are taking profit..
My question to them would be: "Please tell me where else we have as certain as certain can be a multi bagger like this... Why do you take 20% profit when the CEO has already intimated the truer worth is "Multiples" of the current sp".

The next time BHP get a mention will be I suspect when it becomes clear they have approached other share holders looking to make an offer for their stake...
Newcrest could be offered a £1 per share... Depends... who wants who's shares and clear as can be its a world class resource with world class players, this will eventually command world class price.

initial res just above on long term view. above that though - blue sky. Coupled with the fundamentals add on dips imo.

Hope so and my spread bet account has been in auction or at least has solgold go temporarily suspended . Think there is a lot of interest here .

On a serious note there is nothing wrong in taking a profit.
If you have a price in mind stick to it.
Don't succumb to greed.

Arcadian - that is a possibility, however whats to stop another major from coming in and immediately hoovering any sizable offers up. It's a gamble I dont think BHP would be willing to take.
