Surely those investing in mining already know about Solg's assets/prospects? Unless of course Solg are going to reveal new information?

The timing of the cut-off and handover of data to develop a resource statement in this case would presumably be governed by the time required to produce the report for a specific event such as publishing a prospectus for a market listing.

Like a newspaper that has to go to press before a certain time, whose content is out-of-date as soon as it's printed, it doesn't mean that the published information is without value. It doesn't harm the story if you can later say something like "Since the data was submitted for evaluating the resource further drilling has demonstrated continuing mineralisation consistent in grade...etc".

The other "nice problem" is that shareholders do not know how close we are to such publication. Assuming that what we think we know so far of the resource has been stated on the conservative side, there won't be a disappointment coming. Even if the resource is a bit less than what we might have in mind, the fact of it will underpin the value-in-the-ground and provide a benchmark for future expectations as drilling reveals the full extent of mineralisation.

It's a nice problem to have, that the resource is so large that every time they drill it to define its size, it just keeps getting bigger. Annoyingly this puts back the resource report and the re-listings, and consequently the expected enhancement in value. In the meantime perhaps a big hitter will pounce with a wild bid :¬)

Lefrene, thanks for your reasoned response. Much appreciated. Yes, eye watering numbers indeed but no matter which way you look at it they are backed up with HUGE in ground resources. Gives one confidence that the current share price is way off true value as yet. Thanks Again for your time in responding.

alwaysevolving, I don't have a fixed figure in mind for the sp, all one can do is look at the numbers, ie 15 billion tons for Alpala x price of copper at 2%. One gets a really big number, then ask yourself what percentage of that net worth will Solg be able to get in a deal? Is it 2% or 5,7, or 10%?

If you priced copper a bit low at £4 a kilo then 2% a ton is circa £8 a ton x 15 billion gets to £120 billion presumed gross worth. Then say 3% as a sale price gets £3.6 billion against current value of circa £630 million. So that back of an envelope would see 570p. Seems incredible and I might be way off, but this is just Alpala, Solg has many more assets.

All I can say is that I believe the ultimate value here is much higher than the current value, but of course things can go wrong, especially in Central America.

Just out of interest Lefrene, do you have a target price in mind for this if you don't mind my asking? I appreciate there are a number of variables.

ODRodders, I feel that this resource is of such size that it's a 'must have' prize given the decades of production that it will yield. Will there be a hidden concert party quietly hoovering up shares and parking them in disguised places, waiting the opportunity to act? At least NM has been in the game to know whatever dirty tricks are likely to be tried, and given his own substantial holding won't sell out cheap.

Lots of talk on LSE chat room of this being suppressed with large sell order around 50p being in place for some time with the sole purpose being to put off buyers.

The beauty of Alpala is that it is so big and will last so long, that capital sunk into extraction equipment will get to have a very long useful life, lots of time to earn back the investment.

A bit of an odd situation, where a find is so large that the initial resource statement gets to be delayed and delayed as more resource is found.
