goldrush. We discussed that response yesterday. It was somewhat rambling on the webinar beginning with statements about how it's an ongoing need and not a single hit. Ingo states that the carve-out relates to "local exploration" without saying what that actually means. The Franco RNS was very clear that the funds raised can only be used for Alpala and so "local exploration" can only mean developing the Alpala resource further. I referred to the response as disingenuous yesterday.

Irrespective of the scale of the market, there's massive disconnect here between LSE and TSX...

Last night's closing price in Toronto 30.56...stuck here at under 27...

Only a matter of time...patience is a virtue...

AIMHO as usual...

Meanwhile, continued to add to ATYM...up to 65,000 now...gold/silver ratio coming down...copper is the next story IMHO

rougepierre, I too met Maxwell once circa 1975 in an office in Oxford, he was indeed an awful bully his staff were terrified of him. I turned down his job offer.

DD...still making outrageous statements...

"I've been in the corporate world since well before you..."

I've been in the corporate world since 1970...if you predate Burmah you must be well into your 70s...the Court case was 1965...I remember it well...

And I met Maxwell not only in his offices (disgraceful bully) but also at the Three Tenors concert at Caracalla in 1990...gigantic man in an ice cream vendors jacket...

Everyone so invested long and short (and posting to that affect on a minute by minute basis) and yet so little real research...

IG 18 mins interview with IG Solgold SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador. Generally known material but excellent summary with useful snippets...

"...pigs in mud if copper gets to $4"

"...we have pegged an entire province and have an envy of the world's copper gold miners....create entire mining company will be funded by great profitability of Alpala"

"...NPV of around $3B at current prices, 5-6 times current MC"

"...As the custodians of shareholder's capital and I am one, we want to extract the best value of this and our other projects, translating into reasonable shareprice which we are no-where near yet"

"...cannot speak for Newcrest or BHP but evident Newcrest don't like the deal and I cannot blame them as they wanted cheap equity whereas I credit BHP for not commenting"

"...Solgold is not just about Alpala, it is building a copper gold mining industry for all Ecuadorians and as important to country as BHP is to Australia, and have 14 other sites, 20 more licences under the cadastre to be issues. Unqiue company with possibly other 14 tier one bodies. If we just had half of them, then still outstanding global growth story."

"...MC is small fraction of NPV and we are somewhere between concerns of copper market and soverign funding concerns of the past few months, but we are making huge progres so we don't see funding a problem as it is "bankers dream"

"..There will be a realisation the Ecuador will be a mining industry and global finance authorities World Bank and IFCR and are pushing very hard to persuade and assist Solgold to get that moning industry opened up more freely"

The fact is that NM in trying to run Solg's strategy has got it into a bind, and is contradicting himself. Perhaps his aim to be another BHP might start to whiff of megalomania, because he can't do it in the time investors would want. The market cap will stagnate until investors see the scope from the other prospects - which won't happen while NM concentrates his all on getting Alpala better recognition. The trouble is that will take a year or two, and meanwhile other corporates out there
will be refining their own views and plans. Rapidly financing the other prospects - by whatever means - will increase Solg's combined (even if slightly diluted) market cap faster than by letting the current situation drift. ((And I've been in the corporate world since well before you Mr PP - including pre-Maxwell, Burmah, all the other megalomaniac inspired disasters) I think NM is blinded by his ambition to go it alone on all 13 prospects. He needs a strong chairman to steer him in a better direction for shareholders.

DD I've never read so much rubbish in all my life...

Remember, I've not only been a stockbroker with a major London firm; I also spent 20 m months preparing what would have been the 6th largest flotation in the UK (£860 million at the time)as Finance Director, working with the investment banks, nomad and brokers; and finally I was GFD of an AIM quoted company...

The roadshows/presentations should be lead by the CEO and the GFD (Ingo would of course be part of it as he is the specialist); the day to day relationships with insti clients, bankers and brokers would be with the GFD (and the CEO if he has time).

We did pull the Chairman in from time to time and yes they are the strategic head of the company, but they are almost always part time.

I'm sure you're very knowledgeable, but sometimes you push your 'authoritative' voice too far. Stick to analysis or you'll lose my patience support...

(PS shut up Nasdaq, I can't hear you as you're filtered...)

Here's one that may have slipped under your radar as it only listed recently...ADT1...

It was passed to me by a seriously credible investor...

I'm not ramping it, just sharing, having invested a chunk after masses of research.

This blog gives a great rundown.

Lowtrawler, the price will just get played with between news items, but there is an inevitability about the sheer weight of buried assets in Solg, which would appear to have a value in excess of 1000 times greater than the current share capital.

Lefrene, I think we have to treat the Franco funding as ringfenced for Alpala. I don't doubt that they will have a way to get the funds for our other projects but it's an uncertainty which will hold back the price until announced. I haven't heard any convincing argument on what the most likely funding method will be and so we are in for a surprise.

Perhaps some of the $100 million raised can be used as collateral to borrow say $10 million for necessary drilling? There's always that extra $50 million available if needed to complete the BFS. NM has got it thus far, I suspect he has ways of getting the drilling done.

The more I listen to NM the more convinced I am he's not the right man to 'lead' the company. He's the CEO FGS - its the chairman who should be dealing with shareholders and the company's overall strategy - the CEO gets on with 'runninhg' it - which is BN's forte. His control of negotiations with bankefrs, other key industry players, decisions whether to restructure and whether to finance with equity or streaming etc ec=tc should be the chairman's. As it is he contradicts himself by saying (more than once) th he wants bank funding (as the cheapest) but boasts he's up to $2bn with 'streamers and traders; - which will be a No No for bankers.

There are 2 different challenges for SOLG. The first is getting Alpala into production. There is a good roadmap for that. There have been a lot of good announcements and everything appears to be on track although there is a long way to go.The second challenge is funding our exploration projects. We know which sites have licences and we know where the drills have been setup ready to go. We don't currently know where the money for this is going to come from.In the past, we went to BHP or Newcrest and did a placing but that option is not currently on the table. We need an announcement relating to this so that the uncertainty is removed and our price can move forward.

Yes I think we need more risks and uncertainty. Colonel Drake ( or is it Duck

I forget) has left the well trodden finance etc issues and seeks to promote fear

via the political arena.

I hope that Quady on the LSE site won`t mind me posting his rejoinder.

Good morning Colonel, I have some observations about the presentation before the current redcloud one, where a government representative said even if a socialist government was formed it would be ok. Because any government would require the income. So over the last two weeks, I have been reading about Ecuador politics. I don't think we have anything to worry about. The two top parties are, PAIS, who is a democratic socialist party, this is the incumbent, and headed by Lenin Moreno. He only stood, because the last leader had served two terms and that is the limit to how many times you can be in power. The second party is the creating opportunities party, which is a more right wing capitalist party. This is a new party, about ten years old. They are about even in the polls. The way an election works, if any one party gets over 40%, and no other party meets this threshold, then they form a government. If no overall majority, then the top two parties have a run off, and the one who wins forms a government. In Feb 2017, Moreno won by just over 51% in the run off. He missed becoming the government, by 1%, as they scored 39% in the first round. So I see the 2021 election being between these two parties. Just to recap. The socialists are in power now, and as we know they are pro mining. I cannot find a statement on mining from the creating opportunities party, but as they have a capitalist outlook, I don't think they would represent a problem. Just one last thought. If Moreno wins next year, he cannot stand in 2025, as he would stood for two terms. Hope this is helpful

The 80p is not making deductions for any risks or uncertainty. That's never going to happen, particularly in Ecuador and preproduction. Getting some value on the other sites is the only thing that will get us close to 80p without a takeover.
