Seems the $2bn funding he sees on the horizon is all from streamers, traders, and the like. Institutions will prefer to see mainstream banks and the like. No doubt they will come - but for the moment I don't think this webinar tells us more than we knew or hoped for. There you are ! Another 'negative'.

Do tell me where I have been 'relentlessly negative' If anyone even partly knowledgeable sees more negatives than positives, I suppose a happy clappy will see him as 'relentlessly negative' What I know from investing is its always a good idea to pay attention to the negatives.

Thanks DD. As I have said, the streaming agreement says: "Proceeds of the NSR Financing will be used by SolGold to fund the costs to complete the Feasibility Study and any surplus will be used for SolGold's share of the development of Alpala pursuant to agreements with the minority shareholder of ENSA, Cornerstone Capital Resources Inc. ("Cornerstone")."There is no mention that it can be used on any other projects. Maybe the bridging loan has the added flexibility but that will be repaid as soon as due diligence is completed on the streaming agreement.

DD I totally agree with you and welcome your knowledge and experience.. Debate is the essence of a free society. Popper would be proud of you. All I asked was that as a serious investor you mention some positive reactions to show your balanced views.

Serious investors can see the pros and cons, not just the cons.

You are relentlessly negative.

I've done my own number crunching and, suffice to say, I am happy to keep holding. My assessment of value to existing shareholders for Alpala before making suitable deductions for risk and uncertainty is around 80p on a conservative basis. At the moment, at least a 50% deduction should be made for the risks but it is still comfortably above the current share price with all the other projects thrown in for free.

NM has hired Citi To do the number crunching.
I asked Ingo if there was a need for a deputy in his team and he said he hired a banker in January to help him do his day job (not necessarily for bid defence but more day to day modelling).

He has to work with said banks engineers - there will be many of them.

It`s complicated.

You`ll be saying next that the company should take on an experienced merchant banker well versed in the mining sector and well connected to sources of finance capable of securing the best financing deal for SOLG.

Wait a minute...…R30;……230;…..what`s his name? He would be ideal.

LT - you can play all sorts of combinations, but only the professional financial engineers at the banks have the expertise (and vital knowledge of the legal constraints) to come up with finance packages that suit everybody ! Even if I had the expertise, I don't have the time ! So am ducking out until and if the webinar gives a steer.

DD, regarding your concerns over the impact to IRR from taking the streaming deal. After yesterday's dialogue, it looks as though we could get 1bn of funding (33%) for 25% of the NPV, if we could do an identical deal as the current 100m up to 1bn. In all likelihood, this means that the IRR will actually be higher for those funding the remaining 2bn. We can't be certain without access to the specific cashflows but under normal circumstances, if you get funding for a percentage of your project and they require less than that percentage of the NPV then the IRR will increase for other funders. I work with NPV and IRR calculations most days and the cashflows would need to be pretty strange for this not to be the case.

This was why I was somewhat surprised that the Franco deal takes away less percentage of the NPV than it provides towards the funding. It is obviously more expensive than bank loans but doesn't adversely impact the IRR or even get its "fair share" of the NPV based on their percentage of funding.

Solg is a straight asset play so long as you believe the government won't throw a spanner in the works, and this government seems keen to get mining it needs the money. If there are another 10 Alpala's out of the other 72 sites then there's a gross in ground value of something like $600 billion. Even at just 1% that's $6 billion. Currently we are priced at less than one tenth of one percent.

Phat...my wife and I still hold a mere 600,000...I don't need to ramp...

And I notice you're quite bullish on the ADT1 Board as well...

I don't mind such as your detailed argument in favour of a Cornerstone T/O...I've done the same myself in the past...it's just you and Mck plucking fantasy numbers out of the air...

I prefer those reasoning possible values from NPV, etc.

At the end of the day, if we're right, the final price will be what the bidding war will determine...if that happens, Nick will take the deal that leaves him best placed for the future...it's his baby...
