Would we be far more expensive giving away 20-30% of company on equity raise, plus the take over implications it would bring.A great deal, well done Ingo and the BOD!Plus Solg have a big potential overall funding partner, possibly for $1bn of project.Provides huge confidence to market and project.

3 way bidding war. Means Newcrest and BHP can no longer divide us up and buy on the cheap.

Should see 45-50p in the coming days.

At first read, good to have another big name involved. Confirms funding through feasibility. Nothing for other projects. As anticipated, relatively expensive. Essentially, meets minimum expectations for the announcement.

Paul Tudor Jones on #gold: "...global M1 (money supply) suggests gold could rally to US$2,400 before it reaches valuations consistent with the lowest of the last three peaks in this valuation metric and US$6,700 if we went back to the 1980 extremes." #metals #mining $GDX $GDXJ

If gold hits $2,400 then with a 6% discount Rate and 7% increase in recoverability, NPV is $8.4bn. 40% of that is £1.20 a share (expected Minimum takeover price of all other prospects are valued at 0).

NM said the best protection against takeover is a higher share price. We will slowly rerate to 60p. Pending news or bids.

Short term be happy with 70-90p, if longer than a year then £1.50-2.50.

Production then £3-10 possible.

DD just helping ..how many times did i hear i wish i had bought at 10p .Now imho i am giving my opinión that 25p is the new 10p .

Humility not needed .

Did you know i put on 10 trades on the bid totallying over 200k and mánaged to get 21k .kind of says it all .

Newcrest raising another 1.1 billion 8x times oversubscibed ..Chinese buying up a company in Canada .. 29p on TMX .. NM telling the world and the mining minister we got the money .

It might not be enough for some but its sending me a big signal . If news does not come i will add 100k plus on Monday ..if i wait for the news it may cost 15k for every 100k invested .

Lets face it you trust the management or you dont .

Having re-read the RNS of the 16th April, I think once the funding package is revealed it will be for the whole $2.85bn (short and long term funding through to production).

They’ve had 3 weeks Or more to discuss with their shortlisted parties improved terms and imo will come up with a consortium of traders from across the globe for the $2.85bn. Lots of parties who are interested will Lead to improved terms compared to if SOLG went with one partner (a bit like perfect competition in economics 101).

BHP won’t be one of the funders unless they agree on a takeover which NM doesn’t want.

Here’s to good news in 38 hours and 7 minutes.

BREAKING: 🚨🚨

One of China’s biggest gold producers, Shandong Gold, has entered into an agreement to acquire Toronto-listed TMAC Resources for US$149 million. They own 3.54m ounces of gold (measured and indicated) but require significant investment to extend mine life and recoverability. This values them at $42/ounce of gold, equivalent to 37p/share for just the gold at Alpala, and considering that gold is c.30% of revenues, then values Alpala at £1.23/share.

It is worth noting China's Zijin Mining also purchased Continental Gold in March - something I mentioned around 3am yesterday too!

China rushing to buy gold deposits?

SOLG is only a few months away from a bidding war. We have the largest gold discovery in the past 10 years, only 9 discoveries have more than 1g/tonne of gold, we have 22g/tonne and multiple Alpalas in Ecuador.

The only risk I see for SOLG are the elections next year. We need permits before then. The country needs mining, SOLG needs the politicians on board.

Another one to while away the time:

A World War II pilot is reminiscing before school children about his days in the air force. "In 1942," he says, "the situation was really tough.

The Germans had a very strong air force. I remember, " he continues, "one day I was protecting the bombers and suddenly, out of the clouds, these fokkers appeared. (At this point, several of the children giggle.) I looked up, and right above me was one of them.

I aimed at him and shot him down. They were swarming. I immediately realized that there was another fokker behind me."

At this instant the girls in the auditorium start to giggle and boys start to laugh. The teacher stands up and says, "I think I should point out that 'Fokker' was the name of the German-Dutch aircraft company".

"That's true," says the pilot, "but these fokkers were flying Messerschmidts."

Mk, back to only 2% now. Reality is, it's not giving any indication of leaked news. The price increased in anticipation of the news. The news needs to come soon or it could easily walk back down again.
