Worth reflecting on recent news in the Solomons where the Chinese are now seriously investing (replacing the Taiwanese as prefered status investors).

"...The Gold Ridge goldmine in the Solomon Islands was officially relaunched Sunday in Central Guadalcanal, reports Radio New Zealand. (This mine accounted for 20% country’s GDP before closing!)

...It is now being redeveloped by the Chinese miner Wanguo International working in partnership with Chinese owned Australian developer AXF Group and local landowners in Central Guadalcanal."

Solgold's Kuma prospect is 37km south-east of the capital Honiara where as this mine is 30km in the same direction. Solgold has a drilling program planned for 2019. $SOLG $SOLG.L

Interesting (though would need to check atributes of source)....

A couple of snippets I liked

"SolGold is heartened by the progress we have made to better understand the metallurgical aspects of Alpala. The high copper and gold content in the concentrate (than evident in the PEA) markedly enhances our ability to attract financing for this outstanding asset."

"On top of copper gold and silver, we're still looking into molybdenum, rhenium, magnetite and pyrite recoveries. Not only is this orebody big, with a rich high-grade starter core, but it appears to be metallurgically beautiful."

I just love the phrase metallurgically beautiful.

I think as excellent as these RNS's are, to my mind almost more importantly is that together with updates last week we are now starting to see news from the company. Does that mean that having spent the last year in radio silence, doing deals, lining up the ducks, we are now ready for lift off?

Looks like MRE3 is going to look spectacular with the enhanced recoveries. This going to get developed one way or another! So so undervalued currently.

Its interesting to see that the UK press, at least, are covering the copper crunch in more detail over the past couple of weeks or so including Moneyweek, Sunday Times and here is this weekend's Financial Times take on it with reference to Peru, though still as relevent to Solgold $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador.

I had another read through the last investor presentation and browsed the website. Many investors are totally misreading what the company currently has and its vast potential on already located sites. There is no chance in hell any further slice if this company is going to anyone at less than 40p per share. And that is rock bottom. Further, the chances are this going to be taken out in due course, either the whole company or just Alpala as a project. Just too valuable.

Once the permits arrive NM will have to decide how he takes the company forward.

Not sure how many rigs are available in Ecuador but even 3 rigs per permit could add up to 60 rigs for 20 sites .

Will he farmout some of the projects ?

How many years before the permits become nul and void if not drilled .

Nice problems to have .shed loads of blue sky in the price .Once the permits arrive he could probably Sell on half the sites which Would no doubt bring in
More money than our current market cap

I think it's waiting for the sclerotic government to grant drill permits, and perhaps the company can then make real world progress towards releasing some of those 100's of $ billions worth of metals! And of course our money man fixing up finance, then I think we would see the big boys happy to show their hand. Why use their own money when they can use somebody else's. One just has to continue to trust that Nick Mather actually knows what he is doing. Certainly it feels as if a lot of enhancing information is being sat upon until certain cogs drop into place.

Solgold don’t want one at that price but with the MMs keeping this at 20p , it may be all NC and BHP are prepared to pay.

I’m sure if their was a Whiff if BHP paying 45p again this would have been off to the races already.
