Cascabel is described here as 'world class'

And "Cascabel represents one of the most significant copper-gold discoveries in recent history.'

The project has the potential to become a world-class multi-generational mine, demonstrated by the recent PFS estimating at least a 28-year mine life with numerous avenues for additional mine life extensions. This new stream investment, which complements Osisko's existing royalty on the project, will help to support the development of this exceptional asset and enhance Osisko's long-term growth profile."

I would think everyone had room to gain from this.

Sorry to be Cassandra. But to be exact, the $750m isn't for Solg. Its for the 'project', in 3-4 years time, and of which Solg will have a share. Until financial close we don't know what share exactly. And the 'cost' will be the loss to the project of 80% of 20% of gold revenues for about the first 13 years, after which the loss will be 80% of 12% of gold revenues for the rest of life of the project. The NPV lost will therefore be substantial. I'll work it out. There will be a similar loss for the rest of the $1.55bn depending what method it is.

Wish I could McN ! I can't see any evidence of the 'massive' interest the kiddies 'over there' are raving about. Just a lot of small holdings moving from the long termers to the newbies. It'll soon fizzle out while we wait another two years, although maybe a long slow rise later this year. While encouraging, this deal hasn't made a jot of difference to Solg's value.
