If a bidding war started we would soon find out what it is really worth to the big hitters. My guess, not less than $5 billion and quite possibly twice that. Where else are you going to find a couple of centuries worth of metal extraction in a reasonable location.

If I actually had a choice yes I would. I really don't like the way they're going and sometimes principles have to come before profits. It would be extremely worrying from a global perspective if the Chinese got their autocratic little hands on this resource given what they've already hoovered up in other developing countries.

Chinese investment in global infrastructure projects is a worrying trend - world domination by stealth ?

I honestly think we have 5 Tier one prospects. Can’t believe we’re only @ 33p.

Husbod . Would you refuse to take the money from a Chinese company if they offered 1.50 a share tomorrow ?

Thats the problem , they are buying over 50% of the worlds copper and probably Gold . I personally would be very happy worth 1.50 and spend the money in Europe and the UK .

Well copper now 3.25 so near the PEA 3.30 and of course gold some 500/600 dollars an oz over .

What number will be used for PFS .

Copper 350 and Gold maybe 1700 .

Interesting times ahead! Would be interesting if someone were to run a book on odds of whatever the eventual outcome of Solgold in Ecuador. My money is on a very substantial tie-up with major Chinese banks and financiers, forget BHP, Newcrest et al, having seen first hand how Chinese operate, once they have made up their mind they will move very quickly and money will be no object, NM and board will decide exactly what basis the financial deal is struck.

Mam fach .

It would be but alot would have to happen before we get a bid anywhere near 3 pounds . Probably need 5 tier 1,S before that happens . If Rio Amarillo and Porvenir are tier 1 then i would think we could get maybe 1.50 .

Difficult to understand why some sell off here and buy a lloyds or a simular share . Here we have a possible upside x 5 in the next year .. lloyds may double .its a big difference .

Knock out bid would be nearer £3. If we go it alone always thought Alpala might be solg. But Cornerstone scuppered it . So maybe selling Porvair might be an option? Only thinking out loud. Good comments this morning. Pity we can’t move shareprice up!!! Hold on to your shares. Someday soon will be worth much more.

Good points well made, but the attraction of selling something for a couple of billion is that you become your own master. You can make things happen quickly without having to jump through so many expensive box ticking hoops to satisfy the careerist bankers.

If you're in a hurry a big lump of cash would be the way to go. NM has those choices, time will tell what he does.

Fold going back up again .

Iceberg on lse thinks Porvenir 3 is on the way . One of the better posters .

Porvenitr 2 should be at 1300 m now .

PFS probably out before the AGM

Also an update for q3 should give us an idea of whats happening at Blanca and la Hueca.

Gold just slumped on Moderna vaccine news...94.5% effective....

Copper pushing towards a 3 year high and then a 6 year high beyond that...

That's a very sound post tlb...

There has been plenty of informed discussion on here about the tax situation in the event that, especially Alpala, was sold off...

IMHO it would be more likely that one or more of the major projects was floated off into a separate quoted vehicle, with SOLG retaining a majority stake...

I have always thought the 'takeover' speculation linked to Valuestone was a step too far, but your debt/streaming funding scenario is far more persuasive...

If Solgold`s projects prove to be as good as is predicted, then why would they need to sell off any of them, funding would not be a problem, NM has already stated that there is great interest in funding Alpala, debt funding due to low interest rates are preferred route. Chinese interest may well be token at this point in time but could very quickly escalate. Partnership with Chinese finance vehicles would mean no issues with sufficient capital to develop Solgold as independent, in return Chinese would get a guaranteed supply of copper which they desperately need going forward, any gold and silver production would merely be icing on the cake, very tasty icing indeed for Solgold and it`s shareholders. Remember, Solgold in Ecuador is all about copper.

Tend to agree mam fach...a 'knockout bid' would have to be towards £2 to have a chance; otherwise a contested bid would take a little longer but there is no point anyone bidding unless they are prepared to make an offer that Nick cannot refuse...

AIMO as usual...

mam fach, given NM's ambitions to be a 'major' it seems more likely to me that one sizeable property will be sold off in order to provide the capital to develope/explore the other 70+ properties. So will it be Alpalla or Porvenir? The recent interest by the Chinese would seem to suggest Porvenir, once it has been proved up.

Been talk of takeover for far too long with no evidence.
IF T/O occurs (not that I am convinced it will) it will be swift.
IMHO.
