10/10/2012 10:52 | speedsgh edmundshaw is near to the mark. | retsius
10/10/2012 10:09 | Agree shoudl be interesting. Trading statement was at "top end" of expectations - so hopefully they have left some back to beat expectations on tuesday. basically is worth about 150 I reckon, plus a bit more if the acquisitions are doing well. | markie7
10/10/2012 08:52 | WH Smith sell NWS distributions perhaps. | edmundshaw
09/10/2012 21:33 | retsius - forgive my ignorance. what's the relevance of the WH Smith results to Smiths News? i see NWS interim results are due next Tues (16/10) - | speedsgh
09/10/2012 20:50 | Topped up today. Hoping for a boost on news of Wh.Smith`s results on thursday.Plenty of legs to go.imho. | retsius
09/10/2012 18:06 | Now clearly at a 5 year high. | this_is_me
08/10/2012 11:15 | Approaching 5 year high :-) | cestnous
03/10/2012 12:19 | Nice to feel smug for once, having got one right. Locked in a yield of 8% plus and now enjoying the rise in the share price. If only it could always be this good. | lord gnome
03/10/2012 11:38 | this is indeed a thing of beauty. share of the year for me | markie7
03/10/2012 09:04 | I sold at 108p for a 40% gain - but a bit gutted now. Sorry guys but I'm hoping for a retrace. | norry2
03/10/2012 08:56 | Love the way this just leisurely climbs higher. Way to go yet unless macro situation flops. | cestnous
27/9/2012 15:44 | With rising revenue of around £1,800 million there is plenty of scope for raising profits to at least twice the current levels and the market cap is still only around £220 million. | this_is_me
25/9/2012 16:24 | Been taking some profits recently in shares that have got more sensibly valued. However, Smiths is imo not yet sensibly valued, so I have sold not a bean's worth here. 150p would be a more sensible valuation, but if this year is as good as I expect, that would still put us on a PE of around 8 (H1 EPS was 8.9p iirc), and we seem to have become a growth stock, at least for the present... | edmundshaw
25/9/2012 12:32 | yep chart looking good! | gswredland
25/9/2012 12:30 | Trying hard to break out here. | cestnous
14/9/2012 09:36 | Good to see this holding firm. Some big trades this morning as well, looks interesting. | funkmasterp12
03/9/2012 11:57 | PH projected 10% divi growth for 2012 and 2013 is music to my ears. PE2 of less than 6 and projected yield of 8% says that there is still plenty to play for. | lord gnome
03/9/2012 10:43 | PH tweaked numbers a touch: Peel Hunt HOLD 17 Jul 2012 2011 38.60 15.30 8.00 1,734.40 2012 44.77 18.16 8.80 1,804.11 2013 50.35 20.70 9.68 1,799.11 Peel Hunt HOLD 28 Aug 2012 2011 38.60 15.30 8.00 1,734.40 2012 45.97 18.65 8.80 1,818.20 2013 51.06 20.99 9.68 1,830.76 | aleman
03/9/2012 08:07 | It is hardly a large proportion of the issued shares (183 million) | this_is_me
03/9/2012 08:03 | If the y are complying with the obligations of the Trust to do on market purchases, then that is that. The announcement then becomes mandatory. The oddity is in this remit of the employee trust in the first place. | edmundshaw
03/9/2012 07:50 | Agree bizarre, but as the profit and losses of the EBT are consolidated into the copany results until the shares are distributed, it complicates the company results as well. | 18bt
03/9/2012 07:16 | What a weird announcement today. I have no doubt that it will have a positive effect on the share price over the next six months, but it looks like an invitation to the market to raise the price at which the trust will have to buy its shares and so screw that employees. | lord gnome
16/8/2012 14:41 | Good news for the longer term too. Expansion to the contract expected earnings neutral 2013 means not much growth built in until 2014, so perhaps not much use to the average investor :-P. But obviously the extension gives good longer term visibility. This then implies decent support for the dividend stream. Very nice news IMV, and I have raised the price at which I would sell my shares by c.15%. However, after recent rises I have enough so shall not be adding at the current price. | edmundshaw
16/8/2012 12:45 | News International contract expanded and extended to 2019. Share price doesn't seem bothered. | aleman |
