Yes, Hanover had a great track record at the last market bottom with FOUR and ELM.

I think they bit off more than they could chew earlier in the year buying into SPT, RNO, CSLT, SCPA and SMG. They also got persuaded to try to help rescue PLM as Edward Bramson was connected with that type of business in the US - a mission too far imo.

These are the sort of businesses they like best imo - where they can breal stuff up and generate value. They will want and will be under pressure to get these up and above the price they were buying at (circa 70p was it?).

I think those share options are likely to have been perfectly timed myself. It will be interesting to see how they return that 3.15p per share. A special divi I expect.

CR i have read with interest over the past couple of years your posts on various boards i always start my interest in shares with directors buys then with options linked to improvements in share price/ profitability i hold a lot of these shares and did take the rights issue up before xmas . i said in an earlier post that in a recession tv co.s do well with advertising and now when virgin is gone they will be able to concentrate on getting there content right and driving revenue from advertising.am i correct in thinking that you are a fan of hanover cos if memory seves me right the boards you have been on have been linked to them? i think for the directors option to work the share price has to be 30 plus in about 18 months whitch from this level will do us no harm.

No payment date and hasn't gone ex offer.

I reckon when the directors got themselves those big chunky share options recently that was the buy signal (which I missed :-)) but still looks like there could be wadgeloads in this one here out imo. Getting rid of Virgin focusses the business far more.

Hanover are pretty shrewd when it comes to turning a company around.

whats the cut of date for holding the shares to recieve the 3p ?.it shuold be as of last friday in fairness and maybe more to the point have they given us a payment date

Reckon it's time to buy here - looks like Woodward and Hanover has started to work his magic as they have at CSLT and did at FOUR.

Bet these are a one-bagger over 6 months.

i was under the impression tha the rights issue would reduce the co. debt and that any sale would be returnes to share holders in the most tax effective way ie a special divi. they might do the same as voda did a couple of years back special div and a share consolidation. as far as share price as i said i wish i had the funds to top up @ 10/11p but ho hum no funds it should have positive impact on share price but what was the book value of virgin 83mill?? . now that vigin is sold will it make smg more attractive to utv?

Sorry, never noticed the bit about..SMG will pay £15m of the proceeds to its bank and £4m to its pension scheme, and return around £30m to shareholders.

Well its reported on teletext ch.4 that SMG is to sell Virgin Radio to TIML for £53.2m.
SMG chief exec Rob Woodward described the move as a good deal for shareholders.
SMG is expected to use the money to reduce its debts.

Did someone on here not mention earlier that we would get a "special dividend" from the proceeds of the sale?
At least the shareprice has been moving in the right direction for us lately so we will see how it does on Monday with this news.

well its slowly moveing back towards 15p that will be a start no free cash or i would be buying somemore every dog has its day even thus maybe we will see a revival in all shares north of the boarder pile in

As an STV viewer I can testify to a noticeable change in the content of programmes.towards those which cost less and are more populist....

...whether or not this means higher viewing figures I`ve no idea......
just that compared with the past 30yrs or so the mix is noticeably different in the past 9m or so

Babic is now non-Exec at Plasmon as of today.
Is it possible he is being moved to the next role just as this one is sold on or is in a firm recovery?

PS - Plasmon also has problems. May just be SMG is on a decent recovery from now.

Something is going on.
Virgin announcment imminent?.
Wish i had averaged down the other day when we were in the low 9`s to bring my average down a bit.
At least i feel a bit better about my holdings today....onwards and upwards.

theres not a lot to analyse at this rate the company will be worth F all is it going bust i dont think so bad time to be trying to sell parts off and any return of sale proceeds could be more than the share price at this rate HANOVER must be haveing a night mare here like me and other pi thought advertising did well in economic down turns appears not north of the boarder

It does look that way.I tried a "dummy" sell on my shares and i am being offered 11.9p, (spread at time 12p v 11.75p) although that would be selling at a loss for me.
Lets hope the results bring us a nice surprise.
Theres even a few hundred thousand being bought on the plus market today.

I have been whistling this tune all weekend after seeing the link below.

Apparently they are bringing back a cartoon i remember from way back in the 80`s, although im not too sure which channel it will be screened on, but for those who remember it will surely remember the catchy title tune. Enjoy.

This is crazy
I should`ve binned this junk ages ago but kept holding in the hope of a turnaround after they cleared their debt.I know it trebled the shares in issue but sells going through at this price, issue was 15p!!,they must be taking a loss, its as if they want out at any price even with results due next week.

The Virgin deal is the main reason why im still holding although i dont know why.How low will we go.... below 10p!!!! we got close today.
