Is this BB got next to no interest from SMG holders..........?
Or are they all now ex holders.....?

........Well
If the whole of SMG is worth 15p/share and Virgin wont be sold below £100m
this suggests the rest of the Co is worth £35m........thats getting to the stage where a big advertiser might as well buy the TV Station since he could get over 4000 minutes pa of advertising for a one off capital cost of under £1000/min .......makes you think

If this rights issue is going to bomb then the underwriters will be selling at or around 15p for the next 6m at least...hence the share price really has to get back above 15p this week or we can all forget about buying the rights and moven on

Shareholders who were taking up the rights issue will find it cheaper to buy at this price.

Well Monday should be interesting for this share.Either the buying opportunity has gone first thing when the mms correct the drop,or I will have to consider getting in here big time.Seems like a handy 30% can be made on these and that only returning to the 15p mark

Since two thirds of the shares are in the rights and only one third in issue at present it is impossible for more than 33% of existing shareholdings to buy the equivalent of their rights in the market NOW rather than via the rights issue ........hence there must be a short term profit to be had by buyng below 15p in the open market since the shares must rise to at least 15p by 10 Dec otherwise nobody will take up the rights

Well at least we have about 2 weeks to decide wether to take up the rights at 15p or buy cheaper via the market.
Im sure most, if not all of us have funds earmarked for the rights.
I think d/day is the 10th DEC

I cant believe we fell through the 15p barrier, it will be interesting to see if any trades do go through @ 14.75p or less.

New shares are priced at 15p each but you had to own the shares before the ex date (26th NOV) to be entitled to buy 2 for every 1 you had....see news release dated 06/11/2007 in header.

I thought the floor would have been around 16p because using basic calculations, the lowest price you could have bought before the ex date was about 18p, so if you bought say 10,000 @ 18p plus took up your rights at 20,000 @ 15p i make it your average would be 16p per share but it appears the best bet would have been to sell and buy now at 15.5p.

Surely these wont drop below 15p bid!!

GM ...you may well be right but surely keeping Virgin is going to bring in more than the debt that it clears...??

Is the drop due to Branson putting all his money into Northern Rock making a sale of Virgin Radio back to him less likely? I'm wondering if he actually stands to gain money from the sale of Virgin Radio to a 3rd party, and so he is more likely to facilitate a sale? Does anyone know if Branson has anything to gain from such a sale?

Is the share price going to be lower than 15p before the rights expire........?
At this rate the underwriters are going to own the company......!!

Definitely...
....I averaged down by topping up last week so I could get more.......dont see why we cant be at 21p at least by Xmas ......equivalent to 33p in old money
After all the main factor dragging down the share price was the debt and its likely consequence......a distress sale of Virgin Radio.....now we have the best of both worlds........a lot less debt to service and steady income from Virgin until a really good offer comes in which is promised to be returned to the shareholders probably 1.5p to 2.5p/share
The only biggish losers are those who bought into SMG north of say 40p which I admit are a sizeable number..( and include me......just )

I assume the share price is falling to around 18p / 19p because after 5pm 20 nov they no longer qualify for the 2 for 1 rights issue and thats all one share will be worth next week......?
