Ouch! Looking for that turnaround again - WHAT happened to cause this drop?
Anyone here?

WHAT a brilliant turnaround today, all the better against the 'run of play' - Roy Keane must be involved here LOL!

I'd have a guess that there's news about to break perhaps.

I bought in today for a small punt. I must say, for a share to be nearly 10% up on the day this board is very quiet?
Unusual trade went through at close - almost 950,000 shares in one lump and an ordinary trade to boot. Must have been a buy......if that's so there is something in the wind here! If there is then I have hit it by accident.
Oh well......good luck everyone.

I reckon a bid will come from the well run utv and not before time. The time is
perfect for an efficient TV co. in Scotland. As for price I have no idea but
hold shares in both and utv have been as good as smg has been bad.

as i said earlier on this link hanover paid 70p a share if they turn this around like elementis plasmon etc 12/18 months down the line 50p will be a long distant memory

hmm - the greedy little monster in me says top up - but im not sure what is going on and blindly throwing money at a share normally ends in disaster! I should have kept more of a tight reign on it but after such a poor performance over the last 6 months i couldnt be bothered...oh well!

Carl,

The only thing that springs to my mind is that there is more buying interest following ITV's results yesterday.

But perhaps something is brewing with regard to Virgin Radio, Primesight or Pearl & Dean?

I rarely look at this share now - still hold a tiny amount though - what is driving the rise, it is my best % performer this am...? Ta

appears merger talks finnished 1 march 2007 so would that mean september not long and they would be getting a lot more for there money now ie share price lower. have they got the funds? or would it be amerger as before. interesting thought cleudo. i still think hanover will turn it around but some news or update would not go a miss.

At this level, I wonder if UTV will be back with a big stick? When is the six month rule up?

itv still have 17% before aborted utv bid/merger they were rumoured to be thinking of bidding for smg hanover have a great track record ie elementis, spirent ,plasmon but as cleudo says turnarounds take time as we know i think this has massive upside and any good news will take it back up to 70pish about what hanover paid. there is also a possibility of more consilidation in the sector in due time once hanover has got it back on track

I think Hanover will have to show they are beginning to turn things around here before we will see a proper leg up.
