29/7/2007 13:53 | I mailed them a while back and i think they were stunned how far it had fell although they said their position wasn't massive. I'm quite grateful as they highlighted TAN very early on ( i think in the 40s and although they sold way too early i didn't :-)) ). They still seem to have confidence in SMC which is reassuring although my position here is hardly worth talking about. I don't really follow their trades but find the weekly list useful. To be fair it was not just them caught out by SMC, seem to recall Shares had it as their tip of the year. To me it's just a reminder of how wrong we can all be about a company. Let's hope for better days here. Good luck all. | jimmy c
29/7/2007 09:42 | Had a look at the Chart Breakouts site this morning and noticed that they still had an open position on SMC. They originally opened this position on Feb 19th at 105p with the comment: "This stock has crashed all the way from 195p to the present price on a profit warning. The fall looks overdone to us and to the Chairman who bought 50,000 shares at 133.5p. Hopefully the bounce if following chart rules should take this back over 130p" So at 25.75p they are currently showing an 80% loss ! I'm amazed that a site like this does not use, or advocate the use of, any kind of stop loss. It would also appear that they don't update trades either even after 5 months and an 80% fall ! | masurenguy
26/7/2007 16:41 | Gary, confidence would return to an extent fairly quickly if they can demonstrate that the costs are under control & in tendem with higher sales we could look back in retrospect to todays prices which are priced for SMC going under. Back to 190p, maybe not in the next 18 months but back to 50p+ is highly plausible before the year is out.IMHO I will be buying when the time is right, watching & waiting. Good luck all. luchan. | luchan
26/7/2007 16:10 | Could be years before this begins to recover. If investors have lost confidence in this company, then how is the share price going to start rising again? Through the odd person taking a speculative punt, I think not... | gary102
26/7/2007 15:52 | Chaps, I do feel patience will be rewarded & those who wait for a good buying opportunity especially so. luchan. luchan - 24 Jul'07 - 09:04 - 7566 of 7583 edit Chaps, this one on my watch list to purchase but I feel it is too soon after the recent management statements to jump in just yet. My take is that it will bobble about 23p to 28p for a few weeks. I suspect the mm's have plenty of stock & we will need some kind of green light from SMC before the journey north starts in earnest despite the increase in volume.IMHO. luchan. | luchan

25/7/2007 11:10 | i am getting a good feeling about SMC, if it can continue to rise on a very red day like this, then it is doing well | cyberbub
25/7/2007 09:19 | well, 20k is hardly huge, but it did move the share price .. | izzywizzy

25/7/2007 08:04 | up already. expect a large delayed buy just after 9 a.m. | izzywizzy
24/7/2007 21:58 | As a long term investment i agree. But as a share that has fallen too far and could move up quickly on any good(ish)news it must be a good bet for trading.Risk/reward ratio is good. | geologic
24/7/2007 20:29 | You don't have to do any research with SMC - They lied to the shareholders, what else do you need to know? | gary102
24/7/2007 14:33 | Maybe to trade now and again...like yesterday...but strategically risky still imo....DYOR of course! | scotswhaehae
24/7/2007 14:20 | I guess you want it a little lower before you buy? | izzywizzy
24/7/2007 14:14 | 30000v20000....2v1 izzywizzy...but I don't think that tells you much about the underlying picture. Things have been ever so slightly firmer this week...but very marginal imo... | scotswhaehae
24/7/2007 12:06 | any L2 movement, or has it all gone quiet? | izzywizzy
24/7/2007 10:36 | cheers for L2 - appreciated, thanks | izzywizzy

24/7/2007 08:21 | mdin79...I certainly wasn't gloating...I lost too...it was TOPINFO who amused me with his ramping...I assumed he'd just bought but maybe he's a long term holder, in which case I remove the 'lol'! | scotswhaehae
23/7/2007 23:48 | Every co has debt, its whether or not the co can pay it, and I think they are turning the corner at last and then the share price will react accordingly. Regards | topinfo |
