Outlook was pretty positive I'd say. Exceptionals quite high but both outlook statements point to h2 and 08 being much better. In my view this a long awaited piece of good news.

it is always darkest before dawn (or so they say)! Outlook is key here as we already know breakeven for H1. I want to see evidence of underlying progress for first few months of year. What are others expectations?

big day tomorrow....the optimist in me wants to believe that the outlook will be improved and that we can get a partial clean slate for next year...the pessimist doesn't even want to look at results without the aid of a decent scotch! reckon i am marginally erring on positive side at the moment

Interims due 27th I wonder what they will reveal. How any company can make such a mess of a buoyant construction market is beyond me. This was my first but unfortunately not my only dog share this year.

Looks like both SMC and AUK are being manipulated to be lined up for a share placing....or is it just coincidence they are both down by the same % on low volume.

I agree. Would much rather SMC sorted out their management issues on their own, but they do need to sort it.

Oddly enough, the last thing SMC needs is a merger with hyped AUK. It will leave the far more cash generative SMC supporting a combined share price rather than driving its own. Hopefully the merger will fall through. Lets hope there are elements of the management team with some confidence left.

NUMS MM jumped over the MM on the bid and also switched from offer to bid.

1 bid 4 offer Smaller spread now but an not see how to make a profit unless it goes alot higher.Why would the deal being done make it go higher. Holders may get achace to get some of there money back.

MM KBC switched from offer to bid so offer went up.2 bid 5 offer spread is the killer for me.
