Sure KIE has been a dog and may go bust, but estimate current value at about 0.26% of portfolio if they still hold.
Got some more this morning at 166.98p. Discount to NAV 16.5% based on bid (sell) prices and 7% yield.

Been looking to buy in here. There a third off their high , recent weakness could be to do with their Kier stake maybe someone who’s been following longer knows why. Thanks

Discount to NAV is currently about as wide as it gets. So if you believe in the underlying assets now is a decent time to top up or get in. Must admit the performance over the last 12-18 months has been disappointing. This is one of my larger holdings - yield has been decent enough though and thats important to me.

Toped up at 171.02p (spread was 168.5-177.5). A 15% discount to NAV and 6.8% yield based on 4 x 2.4p interims and estimated 2p special in 2020.

I added a further £6500 today - its two of the trades at 174.11,

Using the actual buy price rather than the mid price, its actually a discount of about 17.5%

Looking at the discount to NAV over the last 10years this is about as high as its ever been - I'd also estimate the average discount to be around 10%. The 9.6p dividend gives a decent yield of 5.5%

Of course the value of the underlying assets will always be the key - I cant admit to looking in a great deal of detail at those.

Just got in at 173.74p. Not bad as spread was showing 173-183 at the time.
Previously sold out at 230.55 on 28.4.17 when at a premium to NAV. Now at circa 15% discount and better dividend policy paying 4 equal divs starting at 2.4p for 2019-20 period.

In line with many other trusts, I think the discount has reverted to possibly around historical averages after a period of being narrow after a long bull run. Take the discount over gross assets, and not the net assets after the high gearing as this misleads a bit. (See post 768.)
