Very wisely said as always shrewd. SA has invested as he said he would. He said he needed more staff and now has the funds. He has delivered on every program to date in fact they are ahead of plan despite everything virus related that is slowing others down. I think the placement is at a reasonable discount and they have opened it up to all and who knows what access to cash will look like in 6 months time the way the world is going. Very sensible move again from SA and the team. I will be taking up the OO for sure. GLA DYOR

Before I go cenkos just released a buy rec at 18p stating 3rd commercial deal is close. Speaks volumes.

Amateur hour! Yes it’s a raise. Bonita not to keep the lights on, it clearly states they are advancing oral and hair science. Yes SA always stated he didn’t NEED cash that’s different to keeping the lights on cash. Him and cath are obviously some way down the line on this strain. Remember when Opti has to sell sbtx early this year to show to a major I think it was h and b that they could cash flow enough stock? I see this as similar. We also have posters on Opti saying only way a new II will buy is via a placing as they can’t get the amount they want. Every one has their own opinion but raising funds which by all accounts he could have raised a lot more for the right reasons is not a negative for me. I hold a good chunk here but see this as positive and done for the right reasons. The Opti lock in too is good and shows 2 things 1) they themselves must be throwing off their own cash and 2) they see sbtx being a lot higher in 12 months. I’m going to stay off for a bit as someuwin has a shorting agenda and a few others can’t see the wood for the trees contradicting their own gripes about Opti and soh. SA reputation is fully in tact in my book. S

Correction they raised some at the same 16p in February 2019.

I agree Blah blah. This is the first time they have needed to raise more funds since they IPO'd at 9p. I've seen other companies that have raised funds at lower and lower prices compared to their initial IPO price. This company has already been a good investment for those that have been here since day 1, and I see no reason that will not remain the case going forward.

Slight back track from fully funded Statement now looking to develop own label Cosmetic Will need another 250 million for that. Seen several companies raise cash most with similar poor backtracking reasoning I suggest it’s the economic picture moving forward.Anyone any idea about the Eczema trail seems to have disappeared after the last fund raise to fund

No Blah Blah, its 11% DISCOUNT to yesterdays price (which had already fallen because some peeps were in the know) but its 22% DILUTION for mug punters who are already holding. Number of shares will increase from 128m to 156m = 22% dilution.

Is Stuart going to be buying some too? My first impression of this raise, at 16p, is not positive to be honest. This needs to result in some significant new commercial gains and quickly. I will probably take up the OO - but am watching very carefully now. Trust is still there, but the first blot on their copybook IMO.

PIs typically are never happy to see a placing but I am, if the company is going to scale it needs to raise money, it would take forever to generate the profits to self fund. Also, you need to make it possible for institutions to get at least a part unit if you are going to build an institutional shareholder base. With any luck we will get some who go on to buy more in the market and support the share price from here. Given the discount is a measly 11% I’d say that is a small price to pay for the potential upside.

Interesting that OPTI have agreed to not sell any more shares for at least a year.

I’m always disappointed when a ceo raises money at a low price when he could have done it a couple of months ago at a lot higher price Leaves a nasty taste in my mouth to be honest Seems to happen all to often

Bit of a shocker if you ask me especially since it's above a 20% dilution. Good that we can take part via the open offer but overall I'm not happy!

Yeah I agree SA always said he would only raise if it made commercial sense to exploit an opportunity and they had a good cash runway anyway so things must be hitting up. Soh has had serious criticism for not raising more funds to speed up Opti progress so I see this as a positive. I also like the fact he is beefing up staff as it shows there must be a lot going on. S

But cash wasn't required so should accelerate projects leading to increased revenues. Team was too small so chance to expand.

That 55k buy seems to have triggered some further buys so hopefully this will start a recovery to 20p+ soon. The chart would certainly support that theory.
