24/6/2024 11:06 | I'm reading the recent email which states, “A comparable read-across would be the proposed sale of Sonangol’s interest in Block 15/06. This was first publicly announced in Q1 2022 and has still not reached completion stage.” There’s hardly any information about this transaction in the public domain. I was under the impression that we were comparable to the Afrenta deal and that we were comfortably ahead of them. How could they have believed this would be done by Christmas 2023, and yet six months later, there’s still nothing? It’s hard to believe they were confident about completion by Christmas, only for there to be no progress for over six months. A delay of one or two months might be understandable, but over six months is excessive. Sol, you say “now let them get on with it.” What exactly are they getting on with if they are waiting for Etu to complete this as the lead? Haven’t they stated that their side of things is completed? Maybe they’re just beachcombing in Dubai, indulging in a Scotch at Bury Street or whatever else they've managed to book company expenses. Additionally, it’s frustrating to see such a lack of transparency and communication about the delays. Shareholders deserve to know what’s causing these holdups and what steps are being taken to resolve them. Clear and regular updates would go a long way in maintaining trust and managing expectations.
