16/7/2020 13:11 | If U.S. foreign policy changes after the election in November, the oil market may have to contend with more supply from Iran, and possibly Venezuela. The possibility of Iranian and/or Venezuelan oil returning to the market will place further downward pressure on oil prices over the next two years, when global oil demand is expected to edge closer to the pre-coronavirus levels. | oliversanvil

15/7/2020 22:08 | Actually HT, that wasn't quite what happened. Sirius paid $1.5M to COSL as a DRILLING advance for the COSL Force while it was in the UAE. They were due to pay the MOBILISATION fee of $3M once the rig had been loaded on to the Heavy Load Vessel for transportation. But as it was never loaded on board, I assume that the mobilisation fee was never paid to COSL. I don't know if Sirius ever got back the $1.5M drilling advance fee from COSL. I never came across anything that stated that Sirius paid anything to Shelf for the Adriatic I, until I read this report today. | vatnabrekk
15/7/2020 21:26 | 'Was anyone aware that Sirius made a partial payment of $3M to Shelf Drilling for the Adriatic I,...' I remember the story at the time. SRSP sent two company reps to the AUE to verify the problem with the rig, after many delays, the rig was said to require a five year re-certification. Strangely enough, shortly after the visit and out of the blue, we ended up with a 'Shelf' rig that was already in the Niger Delta area...The conclusion being that although srsp had paid COSL the $3m, they couldn't supply a rig and passed the contract onto Shelf, with offices about six miles up the road from COSL's HQ in Dubai, and surprise, surprise, we ended up with a 'Shelf' rig....this was never confirmed...merely a consensus of opinion at the time. All that one side...the point was/is...the srsp stated that they would make farm-in deals with the winners of the 'next bid round'....that was written in 2019...We're now in July 2020...and the Marginal bid winners are to be announced shortly. | htrocka2
15/7/2020 18:59 | Yes, this report was issued in January 2019, about a month after the Adriatic I went on hire to NDEP instead of to Sirius. The report states: "According to Sirius, the agreement for the Adriatic 1 jack-up unit, which the company had made a partial payment of $3 million, would have seen the spudding of Ororo-2 well take place in the last quarter of 2018, but drilling has been delayed once more until Shelf Drilling provides “definitive timing” for the mobilization of the facility..." Was anyone aware that Sirius made a partial payment of $3M to Shelf Drilling for the Adriatic I, which was hired to NDEP in December 2018 instead of to Sirius? Or is this just a fabrication? This report suggests that Sirius was blaming Shelf for not giving them the rig, but I was almost certain that it was Sirius who wasn't in a position to take the rig on hire. Seems to be quite a bit of "Fake News" floating about. | vatnabrekk

15/7/2020 18:14 | Just located a 'morsel'.. 'Despite the delays in drilling of the Ororo, Sirius is optimistic its Nigerian investment strategy would work, especially if it succeeds in wooing winners of future planned offshore Niger Delta bid rounds for farm-in deals...' (they have the 'well heads') | htrocka2
15/7/2020 15:40 | Thanks minichris.Week 8 now and still not a rig in sight? | htrocka2
15/7/2020 15:08 | @HT Just FYI, Ororo as of today is still burning, however I cant tell you if thats a controlled flare or its just burning in general. | minichris

15/7/2020 13:50 | HT: They wouldn't tow a rig from the UAE to Nigeria, they would stick it on a Heavy Load Vessel. The mobilisation charge for the COSL Force would have been $3M but of course that never happened. | vatnabrekk
