Bestdeal1 - how do you know that we still have 'two well respected funders waiting to bank roll us', or '3 or 4 well heads just waiting to be used' and 'industry leading companies supporting us'

I can't see that any of these factors are still in place:-

Funders - why would they still be keen to lend us money judging by our past and current performance ?

Well heads:- how do you know that we still own some or all of them and that they havn't been flogged off to pay let's say salaries ?

Industry leading companies supporting us' how do you know that we still have their support?

Bearing in mind that this company never updates us then your posting is based on hope and speculation.

If you have a private news source then please enlighten all of us on here.

an extract from a Nigerian newspaper..

"Owena, in suit FHC/L/CS/587/2020 filed through its counsel Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, said the 1st and 2nd respondents “purportedly revoked the Ororo Maginal Field without recourse to the Plaintiff.”

It contended that it would suffer “irreparable damage unless the defendants are restrained.”

My version.....
Owena, in suit FHC/L/CS/587/2020 filed through its counsel Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, said the 1st and 2nd respondents “purportedly revoked the Ororo Maginal Field without recourse to the Plaintiff.”

It contended that the salaries would suffer “irreparable damage unless the defendants are restrained.”

We should be well in for the bid round, we have two well respected funders waiting to bank roll us, 3 or is it 4 well heads just sat waiting to be used, industry leading companies supporting us and a company just dying to rent us a rig (hopefully) , what's for the DPR not to like. I'd say two maybe three licences.

Give us Ororo to start with and (assuming it hasn't been totally wrecked) we are ready to hit the ground running on O2 and a field plan already in place. Oil by the end of the year. Fast bid to oil ever for Nigerea. Onwards and upwards.

“There is no magic to developing fields..

'..it is possible to achieve first oil in two years,” he said.'

...and srsp spent ten years trying to raise money....and they're still at it..

Ten years...big promises, big wages, throw in a few big names ,pay themselves big wage increases, rent big offices, big share issues.. all culminating in....a big fat zero.. with the DPR claiming that it's possible to 'achieve first oil within two years' .I cant work out if these are merely delusional or just straight forward con artists. ( an inexperienced newbee, run by bean counters, attempting to set up an O@G company in the 'shark' infested waters of Nigeria....I should have known better....and only blame myself...this was a very poor investment on my part....and feel sorry for all those that have taken part.)) The only plus side to this story is that it now helps to fill my day during lock-down.

That's a good point minichris…R30;.the problem is, if they now decide to abandon ororo after years of promises and fund raising against the well...what happens to their creditability?...the potential funders will now class them as a huge risk. to be honest...abandoning a project is worse than if they had drilled a 'dry' hole that had to be plugged...at least that's understandable.

The fire was probably put out sooner than was expected. Initial reports suggested that it could take about 6 weeks to put the fire out, based on Chevron's previous experience when they had to drill a side-track into the well to divert the fuel from the fire. If they were going to use the same method on this occasion, they would have needed a rig.

But on MarineTraffic.com I have seen no evidence of a rig being deployed at Ororo. Only an Offshore Construction vessel, the Louis J Eymard, here:

and a supply ship/dive support vessel, the HD Steadfast, here:

Perhaps they were able to find a quicker way to divert the fuel away from the fire. Actually I'm surprised that there hasn't been any updates from the press as they are usually quick to report anything causing pollution to the environment.

@ht

Between the licence issue, the fire and whatever else I would be very surprised to find out that Sirius wish to continue with it, if you pardon the pun, Id say its on the back burner.

qp...nice one...they've certainly got us well hooked with this maggot.... and I can't escape or let go.

minichris...Thanks...The Chevron fire in 2019 was alight for 7 weeks...they gave an update once the fire was out. If ororo has been burning for about 6 weeks....I wonder if it'll require an updated CPR? …..you can burn an awful lot of fuel in 6 weeks from an unrestricted well with a surface area of about 250 square inches at 7,000 psi.....even at the current recorded CPR rate of 10300 bopde… half a million barrels have already gone up in smoke. ($17.3m @ $40 a barrel)
I just hope srsp are not going to claim this as 'first oil to surface'
