I expect that the vessels that they will be using will already be in Nigeria. They have quite a lot of vessels in that area, or they used to. So even if their vessels are laid up at the moment, they will have plenty time to get them mobilised and ready when they know that the rig is taking off from Dubai.

would it not be beneficial to track some of TiedWater's anchor lifting vessels as well as the rig?

I did wonder about Tidewater, HT. I'm sure they won't have had suppy ships standing by without pay waiting for the rig for 18 months or so.

qprallan.... I'd say you have a point there in so much as the members of the consortium are like links in a chain and all their respective roles and are dependant on each other, therefore, it might be bit of job to co-ordinate all the members in a united programme.....at the drop of a hat, especially as no one seems to know the drill date. TiedWater would need to be in position before the rig arrives so as to 'lock' it down and make it secure.

IMO SRSP are just muppets (I mean puppets) and are not allowed to release news unless the rest of the consortium says so.

bleemster...'the bod putting in 12 hours a day'....that cheered me up...the biggest laugh I've had on this board in years.(I'd be surprised if they put in 12 hours a week)

Top secrecy means top bucks for us when they reveal all.We ain't daft it's not about this silly rig or ororo.

I hope youre right Sherl0ck and that the BoD have been pulling in 12 hour days to get to the finish line or 'phase one line' all great and dandy. But why no updates to the SHs? surely they havent been working sooooooo much that they could not get in front of a PC and write a small update RNS.

Thats all we wanted all along. Just to know what they are 'working so hard on'

IMO 99% of the negativity on these boards wouldn't be here if they had done so, and the 1% negativity would just be wiserthanyou and some of the things he says makes me laugh so i can live with that.

As much as I’ve admittedly never really been that excited by the prospect of drilling Ororo in comparison to some of the other macro opportunities I think we can take advantage of, I must admit that it will be a landmark moment to finally see that rig mobilisation RNS after all these years and begin to realise the hugely positive implications that will be set in motion.

We can only hope that despite the frustrating recertification delays the Board have been very active in progressing some of the other opportunities at our disposal, such that the floodgates will open and we’ll finally begin to see a very different company going forwards.

Of the three HLVs currently offshore UAE.
GPO Grace is in the "waiting" anchorage near Dubai where the rig is.
Xiang He Kou is destined for Dubai and should arrive tomorrow morning.

Going with the theory that we've encountered a further delay for something discovered during the re-certification, we could be in business very soon!

"Is a Nigerian summer the same as a UK summer"

May to September

Thank goodness for that.... but you wouldn't believe our luck.... ... the Equator runs through the Niger Delta...and for a horrible moment I had this terrible feeling that Nigeria has no winter and is summer all year round.....and 'end of summer' implies that they're never going to drill at all.....and bobo wins again.

ps...It's been ten weeks since SRSP sent two senior people to Dubai?

From a Rig Re-cert specialist (fwiw)

Thank you for your enquiry. The timescales for recertification of a drilling unit can vary greatly depending upon what phase of re-certification it is in and the type/number of Classed systems on-board. Unfortunate we are not permitted to give details of any specific projects/vessels without the permission of the rig owner. If you were able to get this confirmation we would be able to give you further details on the status and expected timescales.

Should you have any questions please let me know.

Vatna,

Definitely, Nigerian time is 6-24 months behind everyone else. :)

Ed.

I think that's what they thought at the time but, I believe, the work required was more extensive than originally thought.Be nice to let shareholders know though.

hlv spotters club onlyI note the Cosco hlv Xiang He Kou has changed its destination from Fujirah, UAE to Dubai UAE, due to arrive tomorrow. From the speed and recent movements I believe the vessel is empty. That will make it two Cosco hlv in close proximity to Force. One day?!!!https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:3982720/mmsi:477810700/imo:9752656/vessel:XIANG_HE_KOU
