Dr.R., the Neptune isn't actually travelling anywhere at the moment, it's just drifting around, presumably waiting on something. The apparent speed of 0.1kn will be due purely to wind and/or tide.

Hover the mouse over AOS Neptune and it says Destination COSL Force, which suggests that this offshore supply ship has been working to support the COSL Force, and this Destination setting could now be out of date. But the question remains, where is the COSL Force now? Close to the AOS Neptune, or close to (or on board) the ZHI Yuan Kou?

The pink dot nearby is a Navigation Aid on the Saleh oilfield, predominantly gas and operated by Rakgas. The field is near the end of its productive life, which means that COSL Force is no longer needed there. Could well be that Neptune tug is towing it away, at a very slow 0.1kn, to a loading destination.

Nope, the Zhi Yuan Kou is still lying at anchor with no other vessels close by at the moment. Don't know if she has completed loading or not. Just have to wait and see.

- and certainly, certainly not bank holiday weekends - traditional 'family time'.

O/T... 'Oliver...'.... I see you on the IRV thread, how did you get on?...( that was easy money...the market had badly oversold those shares....I put the profits back in here, ps, IRV results are still due.) Doug reckons when this gets up and running it will do a 'UKOG' although short lived could spike up to 11p, merely on sentiment,'hot money' and 'fast buck merchants' piling in...you've come in at a good time. Good luck.

"COSL Power is a modern high-specification jack-up rig which is an ABS A1 Self Elevating Drilling Unit capable of drilling in water depths of 375ft." One but not the other.

Reading too much into this I am sure at the time it was announced the intention was to use the Power but due to things taken longer than expected we were able to switch to the Force (which keeps us more or less on track)

A couple of minor points.....

'Who's running this show?'...... A joint operating committee...and implies that the JOA is up and running of which SRSP are a member.

One curious point being that in the original 'Power' rns rig announcement, no reference was made to the depth of drill (we found that out ourselves) or current rating...yet with the 'Force'....both are emphasised.(sounds to me and in my opinion only that the 'Power' didn't have all its paperwork in place).



'In addition, COSL will deploy its COSL Force rig instead of the COSL Power, as the Force jack-up rig has a rated operating water depth of 375 feet and a rated drilling depth of 30,000 feet.


Also, Sirius has amended terms for COSL to use the Force jack-up rig on the Ororo 2 and Ororo 3 drill programs for the lump sum of USD9.0 million, on the assumption that the work duration doe not exceed 90 days from the spud of the first well in the program. If that duration is exceeded, daily rates will apply'

What say Big Mike comes up with half a billion quid the week after next and takes over the rig contract and all that goes with it? Win-win. Fully developed by indigenous Companies, with Schlumberger rewarded with 20%, the total assets, focused on gas condensate, will realise a value in the region of circa $30bn over a 20-year period. Agent takes 12p for having set everything up for its Ondo masters. Just a thought.
