But what if there was an existing aggressive acquisitive mid-tier in partnership with 2 massive State-owned oil Cos, producer-operator of 2 major gas assets, one of which it had recently paid over $1bn for a % stake, lurking say somewhere to the East of Rochdale. And if it perhaps made a statement declaring that it was on the look out to become an "integrated international oil and gas conglomerate.", especially because this country somewhere East of Rochdale was pretty desperate for both natural gas and wet gas. That a committed BoD had just raised a significant amount of cash. Even someone as thick as the celebrated and much loved lassie from Lancs might raise an eyebrow, esp if it was a large private Co that already used cutting-edge technology + COSL rigs and might benefit enormously by taking a FTSE 350 listing via rto involving massive share transfer exchanges before the event. Oh and that its big money consortium compatriots were already swarming like flies over the area.

Just saying, like. Hypothetically speaking, of course ......

It's not the Nomads that have got their facts wrong...it's the media.(they just print what they're told to print)

The $6bn BP Nigerian METHANOL deal was announced 6 months BEFORE the 'Times' posted an article about BP'S 'first deal' in Nigeria, (ie, the SRSP/BP talks)

posted January 2017

posted June 2017

.....and as I've said previously, BP OIL International Ltd is a privately backed BP vehicle.....in other words.. keep your nose out. However, this presents a problem with respect to the SRSP negotiations.....Because if BP are in the process of closing a $6bn Nigerian deal elsewhere.....that's a hell of a lot of leverage when dealing with little old srsp..

Solarno not you as well??!

Ok, I couldn't muster the enthusiasm to respond to the BP stuff yesterday but seeing as it's still dragging on I'll finally comment.

There is no way on God's green earth that the Nomad & AIM Authorities would sanction and allow an RNS that would so naturally and purposely mislead the market into thinking that we're in advanced talks with BP plc if it wasn't actually the case.

There may well be other O&G companies around the world whose initials spell out B.P, but I'm pretty certain that BP Plc have already ensured that no other company can rightfully use their acronym in media, let alone in official RNSs.

BP plc's legal people obviously would have seen the leak and our RNS response. Anyone really think they'd just let it go if we were blatantly encouraging patently false share trading based on their name & goodwill?

If a leak that came from 'BP insiders' and is obviously referencing BP plc needs to be commented on due to strict AIM regulations, does anyone honestly believe that we'd confirm we're in discussions with BP if it wasn't actually BP plc? ("....notes the recent press speculation and can CONFIRM IT IS currently in discussions with BP regarding...")

Due to AIM regulations if we're not actually dealing with the subject of the leak (BP plc) we'd either be able to completely ignore it / we could deny it's true / or confirm the actual true identity of the company whose name shares the same initials.

Embarrassing that I'm even defending a fact that's so obvious to most here.

Vat it looks to me like he believes it's another company altogether that isn't related to BP Plc or any group company thereof. Utter nonsense.

If it is BP Oil, then he's right in one sense that it's not the to company BP Plc, but wrong in another sense that it is still the big BP Group. But the importance of it being BP Oil is that they wouldn't be coming in as a contender to become the operator, but they would be a major and important customer. And with an off-take agreement from them, as a customer, that would make it a whole lot easier to raise finance.

'Ruffled feathers' and 'touched a nerve'? Not everything posted here is about quickly shooting down to protect at all costs some sort of secret truth that should not be mentioned. DocRosso has been posting stuff about BP plc for weeks and then out of the blue he negates his research and says BP isn't BP. I doubt he expected folk to just ignore it or lap it up without comment. Ludicrous comments will rightfully lead to robust counter points.

I think that too much weight is being attached to this BP story. If it is the case that it is BP Oil or BP International, then these are subsidiaries of the giant BP Plc anyway. However, BP Oil is not involved in exploration or production, but they deal with the products through refining and distribution. So it would make sense for BP Oil to enter into a take-off agreement so that they can get their hands on the product, but they wouldn't be a contender for becoming the Operator. They just want to get the product.

This all makes sense to me, although I'm sure others will disagree. It would also mean that the hold-up is not due to the discussions between SRSP and BP (Who-ever) as the details of the take-off agreement were probably settled some time ago, and just waiting for the consortium to sort themselves out before it can be implemented. Like all of us, they will be anxious for the rig to be delivered to the location asap.

And for SRSP to say that the pre-payment facility is to support the financing of the proposed drilling on Ororo is a red herring. The prepayment facility will simply be part of the take-off agreement, i.e. payment up front, and SRSP could decide to spend it on whatever they want.

Solarno.if the doc has uncovered something and it has such importance as to keep it from the bulletin board ,then would it not be better to let it stay uncovered. What is the point of bringing it to the attention of the BULLETIN BOARD.It seems clear it has touched a nerve with some.

Why is GP tax debt reported in $? The article at the time also mentioned other energy companies who owed tax but in Naira as could be expected.

Sherlock.personally I don't know what is going on here with Sirius. The fact Sirius is still here and alive and the huge volume that has been moved since Christmas and the Schlumberger rns leads me to believe we are involved in something of significance.I trust nobody on these threads ,yourself included ,but do enjoy your posts as they are factual and well researched.I don't believe the board control Sirius but that again is only speculative. With regard to BP ,to me they are just another in the long list of big names to be linked with us ,glencore, graham Lyon ,havoc ,Ophir etc.Like most genuine holders here I just want to see some conclusion to my investment as it has gone on far too long .Will it bring the rewards we seek, who knows ,but the potential is clear to see and GAS will play a huge part in Nigeria going forward,we may or may not be part of that huge potential ,if we are then happy days.If not then so be it,family ,health and good friends are the foundation ,the money just gives me more choices.

"The only thing that's black and white to me is the 1 or 2 million share buyer who pops up every day. 4 million on Friday !"This has been happening for so long now though what's to stop this "buyer" also being the "seller" that we've also been seeing of late? In effect nobody is building a large holding, or conversely, not dumping either. It could just be the same 5 million or so shares being bought and sold to manipulate the share price and maintain it within the desired range. If this is the case, the questions are, who and why?

Some reactions to drrosso,s posts seemed over the top .We have had every possible scenario thrown into the mix on this BB over the years so makes one wonder why the latest theory is any different.BP involvment has done nothing for the share price so drrosso,s posts are hardly going to rock the boat ,unless of course ?
