Im a bit confused myself but read it that the award of the contract is not this week as originally suggested.

US gov has requested all companies bidding for the contract to reply to a question that suggests they want this training package quickly and will pay more for faster delivery. Bidders have to submit their reply within 10 days of 31/7. so close off is 10/8.

My guess- as they clearly want this fast is a contract award to winning bidder next month?? id also suggest the request suits the simbox. : )

SimiGon Bids to become Prime Contractor for US Army CEVT by Joining Forces with URS Federal Services

Thursday, 21 february 2013

Having URS Federal Services as part of the SimiGon team enhances the Company's bid for contract totaling up to $30 million

SimiGon (LSE: SIM), a global leader in providing simulation training solutions, is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with URS Federal Services Inc. ("URS") a leading provider of military training, engineering, construction and technical services, to provide a complete simulation training solution (hardware, software and connectivity tools) as a prime contractor. It is expected that SimiGon, and URS, will submit a bid in 2013 to become a prime contractor for the U.S. Army Construction Equipment Virtual Trainers ("CEVT") programme valued at an estimated $30 million.

The integrated team will benefit from the wide experience within URS alongside SimiGon's advance technology. If selected, SimiGon will receive revenues for the provision of all of the simulation and training technologies for several hundred systems, while URS will provide the Integrated Digital Environment, Subject Matter Experts and other important services.

The CEVT programme provides cost-effective training in a virtual environment. This allows personnel with little or no experience in operating construction equipment to have the opportunity to learn in a safe environment. As the programme progresses, training will move from simple control location and functions, to complex tasks and tactics employed in operating the construction equipment.

URS has trained over 20,000 U.S. Army aviators and has recently been awarded another contract to provide the Rotary Wing Flight Training at the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence ("USAACE") in Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Ami Vizer, Chief Executive Officer of SimiGon, said: "Our stated strategy is to move up the scale and be a prime contractor and successfully deliver large simulation training programs such as CEVT. Expanding the SimiGon offer by adding the expertise within URS will enhance our ability to do this. With our established position as the preferred supplier of simulation solutions for the world's largest military flight trainingprogrammes, alongside URS, a world renowned name and proven operator in the industry, we feel we can provide a unique all-around offer to the U.S. Army."

fingers crossed. If sim win could be looking at 100%+ rise based on the fact it rose 50% on the recent 6.7 million contract win.

It's from the US Army Milatry contact info on the contract. The URS and Sim will split the contract between them if they win it. Hence Sim's rns re 30 mill for sim and the rest to the urs. I dont know what date/day the award is.

When sim got awarded the 6.7 mill deal they were upgraded from 25p to 40p as the contract de risked the business. It will be very interesting if they win this one.

Edit, its an update to the contract rather than the contract award, i found some further info after another poster pointed my error.

Recieved this regarding the $30 mill CEVT contract last week.

We hope to have the RFP out in another week. We will award to one contractor only, we won't be splitting up the requirement.

Ianb & Melodrama - Your recent postings have indicated that useful information can be gleaned by the way the price moves compared to volume,at the behest of the MMs. Is there any article you could point me in the direction of please to give some background. Thanks

Been a few small sellers and a very minor dip, its to be expected after some big rises in July. It needs those sells to maintain liquidity and so it can move up to the next level. If all the shares were bought out at 33p then there's no where for it to go. The MM,s need to buy and stock up on shares so they can move the price up. They need shares and if they pay 32p for them you can bet they will want to sell a lot higher.

Look at the 2 year charts trending forever north, always dips along the way but they are required. Trust your judgement these have a long way to go yet. Big contracts to come from the US army and there's going to be outstanding intrim results late September.

No probs, i use charts and fundamentals, not really a slave to either, but definite trends in volume are very useful, on Sim's side there! Cheers Mel

Ok DG, but nothing goes up in a straight line, i'm happy as vols on the blue are significantly bigger than the red, so still a strong hold, albeit recognising there will be retraces, but the overall trend is up, pretty strongly at the moment.

Melodrama - No problem no offence taken, I am just very sensitive at the moment with this stock, having been keping a close watch on the trades on LSE there has been a lot of red on the screen this last few dates - thats just my observation! I have been in for some months and just keeping close tabs - for a number of reasons.
